limitations of system - doesn't translate into an efficient system for us - it added work/complexity when it was supposed to reduce it. Creating new versions of specifications and how they are all linked, cannot see specific names/version numbers, can't do where used reports, etc.

Specright offers a customizable specification management system that makes data more accessible and the lookup process easier overall. Our experience from the initial inquiry through to completion of the Packaging Specification implementation project and ongoing support has been good to excellent.

We drafted our high-level business requirements and conducted online investigations for "fit for purpose application" to manage our large and growing packaging database. By "manage" we mean the lifecycle of packaging for finished goods. Since we are in FMCG - confectionery manufacturing, with 300 product lines, high-quality branding on packaging is crucial.

While on the Specright website, we online "chatted" with Zach, and raised a number of questions. Zach was able to answer many of the questions, plus facilitated answers for the rest. Zach got Daniel involved to provide an overview of the Specright system. This was followed by deep-dive presentation with Daniel and Adam. We were impressed with Adam's in-depth understanding of packaging and his excellent detailed knowledge of the Specright system. After further presentations to Whittaker's Management and key stakeholders, we selected Specright to deliver "our" solution. There was no overt "selling", which we as Kiwi's really appreciated. And we really appreciated that everyone at Specright went outside normal US business hours to fit in with our NZ time.

The commercial agreement between Whittaker's and Specright was straightforward and we moved swiftly into the project. The initial PM assigned left soon after starting the project. This was disappointing, but we moved on. Sasha was assigned as PM, and immediately took charge of the engagement, providing good leadership based on a good knowledge of pacjkaging, of the Specrght system (she is an ex-user), and of the implementation methodology and tools. She is very professional and patient with us "new-bees". The implementation project was very successful, and the transfer to Support (Nick) has been smoth. We now have a firm basis for extending the system into Ingredients Specifications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

A couple of minor complaints:

Partway through the implementation project, Sasha told us that she had been assigned to another project and someone else would take over. This was a nasty surprise to us, and we complained in the loadest terms to Daniel and Adam. Carrie got involved, and Sasha was reinstated - whew!

Initial invoicing was awkward - there is a feeling that Specright need to understand International transactions better.

And adding new users is slow and cumbersome. We don't really understand why we cannot do it electronically with immediate effect, without having to involve Daniel, who probably has better things to do with his time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a Quality Engineer, I am working across multiple Business Units to implement the Specright program. Specright provides the support I need to get it implemented. Each BU has its own quirks and requests, and Specright has been excellent to work through all these unforeseen challenges. Their product is intuitive and easy to teach to new users. There are improvements to be made such as the history section is not always as clean and as integrated as I would like. However, Specright is currently in the process of amending those areas of weakness. My biggest compliment is that they know they have holes in their game, and they are actively pursuing ways to improve. They listen to feedback and improve rapidly.
