My favorite thing about Solver is that it is easy to use once an individual gets over the learning curve. In our accounting department, we have built multiple reports that have improved the efficiency and integrity of our financial reporting. We have also reduced the timing of our month-end close process 2 - 3 business days due to implementing new Solver reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Data Warehouse and mapping everything can be cumbersome. Also, in my experience when a user is in the middle of creating or updating a report Solver can sometimes kick you out causing an user to lose their work. I recommend saving as often as possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My favorite thing is the ability to use most of the excel functions within Solver. With the ability to store data to the dimensions we want coupled with all the excel features makes Solver an easy to use but powerful budgeting, planning, and reporting tool.

As a new user myself, there is a bit of a learning curve to master all of Solver's features. But there are enough resources within Solver to help navigate through the learning process.
