Fast modeling of simple and complex products using Synchronous Technology and traditional modeling together, including ID prototypes, mechanical parts, and large assemblies very fast with all control over it, not needing an ultra-powerful PC Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Animation and sketch environment could receive some improvements, and they could add more functions to work with meshes along with B-rep modeling Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Solid Edge provides excellent tools for 3D modeling and assemblies. The synchronous technology makes editing and updating designs easy, which saves a lot of time during revisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software sometimes feels slow when handling very complex designs, and it requires a high-end system to run smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very good interface, user friendly menus,
It can be tricky to get into from other CAD systems out there but it has some amazing capabilities.
Very strong sheet metal design enviroment, which models almost everything you can think of.
Best in class assembly enviroment where it is just blazing fast and can do some very tricky and complicated assemblies.
I use it on a daily basis along side other platforms and it outpreforms all of them Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really miss the old designs.
Siemens has chosen to make it more similiar to NX anad other siemens products.
Some user interfaces are now are harder to use then before, I guess it will need to get use to.
Other then that need to get it running more fast on large assemblies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best feature of Solid Edge is the uniformity of the menu system and the way that the commands work with the selection of the graphic objects. This theme is carried throughout the various modules of the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the downsides is finding trained Solid Edge users in the San Francisco Bay area. Because Solid Edge is not widely used in the SF bay area we spend more funding on training than might be required for other CAD systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Solid Edge is very user friendly, interface and advanced subdivision modeling for complex shapes improved synchronous technology for quick design changes and the one more thing is that SE enhanced simulation tools for accurate analysis and robust data management for large projects. There is nothing so much to dislike SE, but there are some minor issue that i face while using SE experience slow performance and lag when working with very large assemblies or complex models. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Solid Edge is user freiendly, implimentation is too easy. number of features like Synchronous Modeling are very useful while frequently of use to edit non parametric models.
Ease of integration with Team center and customer support will be always available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Version compatiability is too different, when we want to use old version and new version Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Has a good simplistic approach similar to solidworks, however much more functionality which makes building parts more efficient. Also the possibility of doing 3D drawings. Very user friendly and easy to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The pattern command is slightly confusing to use, and you have to see the tutorial for the curved pattern before you use it. Also it's not possible to share files with users of previous versions of the software. Workflows can be difficult to use for new users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Synchronous Technology is a major key player in Solid Edge. The Design Configurator which is a configuration tool for repeatetive designs. Virtual Components is a hidden gem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some feature is missing while comparing with other CAD Tools like Single key shortcuts and Assembly Mate suggestions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to experience the best of both worlds. Synchronous and Ordered Modeling, the ease of use and the simple user interface. The options for designing are endless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing really that i dislike about the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, there is no a single feature that is better than competitors Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Well well well... Where to start
1.Perhaps the most disgusting thing is working with a library of standard parts. Terrible ancient and incomprehensible interface. And the main thing is the lack of a normal and understandable method for creating your own library with various materials and connections for assembly. Just look at inventor and make an easy and clear interface for adding new collections like there.
2.Family of parts. The one who worked on this feature has no idea what he was thinking about, why the hell do I need to force the generation of the “child part” , that I want to use, in a folder??? I want to have all the configurations in one file, just select the desired option from a table without creating hundreds of models in a folder. Moreover, "child parts" do not inherit the connections that I applied to the original model using "assign capture fit".
3. Section view. You think It is okay when I cut 30 components in assembly and all of them are cutted in one color??? Why in fusion 360 it is as it should be (every part will have its own surface color cut), but you can not do it?
4. Design configurator. Firstly, why on earth did you think that you could sell this module separately while competitors provide a similar function for free? Why is there a bunch of books and hundreds of videos on YouTube for ilogic from inventor, but you have absolutely nothing, well, except for a couple of useless videos on your website. Is it normal that there is no support for drawing configuration? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Solid Edge is a great CAD system that I would highly recommend using. I use it every day for design and engineering work. It has more features than you would need, but not in an overwhelming sense. There is lots to learn about the software and great tutorials/manuals available online. I love the radial tool feature - it increses my work flow and makes it easier and faster to get to the commands that I use often. A bit of tweaking and you can customize Solid Edge to optimize your workflow. The customer support is also fantastic, any issue that I have had has been solved by calling the help line and talking to a real person. Sometimes they are simple issues that make me feel a bit dense for not understanding right away, and sometimes they are larger issues which are then moved up to Problem or Incident Reports. As Maitenance Packs come out you get to see the bug you found get fixed, or your issues resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't really want to talk down on Solid Edge, as I do genuinely like the software. My least favourite thing about SE is how often it crashes, although saying that I have been experiencing less and less crashes lately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
