I have been a game developer and a BI manager for over than 10y, and as much as I'm data-oriented, I have never learned about my users the way that I did with recording sessions and their amazing dashboard Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The highlight of this software is that it records each of the activities and movements of each user who enters the website and performs a series of analyses, such as sentiment analysis, behavioral analysis and funnel analysis, which allow us to recognize the flaws of our page, the sections that are most liked, the sections where users stop for longer and where they do not generate any interest, thus creating strategies that help us to attract more users and traffic to our page. I would like to be able to export the videos and not just watch them from the application, I would also love that its interface was simpler, to have better organized all the tools and to make better use of them. Although all its analyses are very efficient and complete, some are not as easy to read as I would like, such as the funnel analysis, which does not clearly show the problem to be solved. Smartlook has been an invaluable tool in so many respects. One of the best features, of course, is its session recording, which is incredibly helpful when supporting our site's users, as we're able to better diagnose exactly what went wrong and guide them in completing their intended action. It's also immensely helpful in diagnosing bugs (particularly with the console features), understanding how users are interacting with new features, and more. Aside from this, the data analytics with heat maps, funnels, and key event tracking helps us understand usage and prioritize our next product steps. The support team has been very helpful in getting us quickly set up as well as in maintaining success. All of this at a very fair market rate (we used to use FullStory, which was good, but their pricing jumped significantly and with fewer features/less value than SmartLook, in our experience). We've had some trouble at times getting Segment to speak consistently to SmartLook's platform, but it seems to be more of a Segment issue than a SmartLook issue. I like that it is an un-invasive way of keeping track of activity within our application. It's pretty dependable and has a bunch of features that I didn't think we'd need but we use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's buggy and there's simple things that I really don't like that seem dumb. For example, I can't export more than 1,000 records of data at once which is a MAJOR painpoint Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are some features I had to solve through customer support, that could be in the UI. For example: Cancelling/merging accounts and mainly the possibility to assign recordings quota/limits to different projects. Also, the dashboard could be more customizable (bigger tiles, scrollable lists). And possibility to set concrete pages to be monitored (and restrict others) from UI. Useful for analyzing user behavior for Apps. I knew other tools that work well for websites but Smartlook has an advantage for apps. My projects very organized from the beginning and filtering properties works just fine. It didn't create unnecessary load in the app and integration was really easy. Behavior Flow feature could be more customizable. Sometimes there were performance issues and small bugs that got in my way. Android resolution was bad compared to iOS. Could be nice to compare projects across platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We tried many tools which claim about getting the session recording and user analytics but, nothing comes close to Smartlook. Dashbaord is super easy to navigate and it has all the features you would want to know whats happening with your website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there were some premade settings for shopify stores. It would be Easier to get started instead of customizing and working around. It takes to learn thing but, the support is super helpful and they always there to fix things for you. No complaints! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
