There are so many fun ways to involve students in lessons, through collaboration, individual worksheets and group work. There are also fantastic game based activities that leverage teacher's content to effectively stimulate learning and revision. Using the Response tool, teachers are able to create full assessments and get immediate results which can be downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet. This data can then be imported into an LMS and used for reporting, making tests and report writing a breeze! I am thrilled about the Immersive Reader, too, as it enables students with language or reading difficulty access the lessons. Lumio lessons are also very easy to create, and there is a vast library of ready made resources and lessons to use and personalise to fit the teacher and students. Best of all, Lumio can be accessed on any device, meaning teachers can teach from remote venues, in class and connect with students remotely too. And all this can be accessed on a mobile device, laptop, desktop, Apple product and SMART Interactive display. BONUS: IT IS FREE! It is easy to use from a student and teacher perspective, and is siple to implement in any educational setting. With the continuous support available through local and international support teams and the embedded help videos, there is never a time that you are left to figure things out on your own. Personally I use it all the time, in every lesson I present. It integrates well with Google and Microsoft. It also works with any student device with a browser. It also has integration with Canva! Simply an AWESOME edtech tool NO teacher should be without!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A big downside is that it requires internet access, which means teachers in remote areas with spotty or poor internet connectivity might struggle with accessing lessons. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lumio's templates for building interactive content make it extremely easy for educators to create engaging content for students, especially at the elementary level. Our teachers love that they can also import lessons they already have made from PowerPoint and Google Slides, then add their interactive components on for whole group or individual student interaction. I think that, as with many things, it can be very frustrating for teachers to see some of the tiered components cost extra. While it's completely understandable that the company needs to make money to continue to improve, as educators, it's generally outside the teacher's control for what funds are spent and where based on school/district budgets, which then can either lead them to personally paying fees for subscriptions, or in some cases, being restricted from using them where they are not allowed to pay for items personally (as in my previous district). The best thing that I like about Lumio is that it is very intuitive for both the teacher and student. It is easy for teachers that have little to no background knowledge of using edtech to use it and it has many options for teachers that frequently use technology. Lumio has made it very easy for students to access from K-12+ Implementing technology is easy when using Lumio for a simple review game or an entire lesson. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not like that it does not integrate with the Canvas grade passback yet which many schools utilize daily. Although I have heard that they are working on putting this on their roadmap of options that are coming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lumio is an incredibly powerful tool in the classroom. It is easy to use and navigate the site, which enables educators to use it well from their first use. The different interactive features have truly made teaching a more engaging experience for all my learners. I really enjoy being able to see my pupil's work in real time and have found my pupils have picked up how to use it very quickly. We now use Lumio every day! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be difficult to find pupil work once they have completed tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that you can create engaging lessons and activities for students to support the curriculum and reinforce skills. It also provides data on student responses and performance which teachers can used to make informed decisions about the instruction in their classrooms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I wish is that it would pair with LTIs and the data could transfer (i.e. importing grades). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is so much to access via the Lumia board alone, from interactive games, whiteboards, lessons and other activities, to easy external application when connecting external devices such as laptops. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some boards can become extremely glitchy, especially in the morning and laggy to use, but once it’s started it’s great, this is one of the older versions 2023 not the latest 2024 board Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lumio is my - hands down - favorite way to spark student engagement, create interactive lessons, and create safe, low-stakes opportunities for all of my students to share despite their learning differences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am hoping that Lumio embeds more question types into the game based question activities (multi-select, hot spot, etc.). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I loved how simple it was to use. The interface is very easy to read and very user friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think it could use more in the library yet that comes with time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My favorite thing about Lumio is that my students are able to have the presentation directly in front of them. They can zoom in on the part they want to focus on, interact with the lesson, and receive immediate feedback on their thoughts instead of waiting until the end. I also love that all students can participate and are given a voice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lumio runs slow on our network at times, but the good far out weighs the bad. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lumio is super easy to create an engaging gaming experience that will draw in students to learn the content used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
