SkyPrep Pros and Cons

SkyPrep is very simple to use, I can teach new LMS admins how to build a course in 30 mins. Building courses and learning paths is multitudes more simple than any other LMS I have worked with. Also, the customer service and response time when we have a question is the best I have seen from an LMS provider in my 15+ years in the industry. For our learners it is just as simple. We have all external customers using the system, including about 20% international, who are not native English speakers so we needed an LMS that was as easy to use as "falling off a log". Our biggest delta is the user navigation is in two places. It is not a big problem and we do not get many calls on it but you navigate a course by either hitting a next button to the upper right or you can scroll down and click on the content. We would like to have one or the other, not both. For now we can not change that. Also the separators look good but do not work well in the mobile environment. If you click on one you get a grey screen and need to click again to move on. We wish the separators did not show that way. It sounds like they have an update coming soon that may address these but so far we have not seen that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about SkyPrep are the user-friendly interface and robust reporting features. The platform allows for many different combinations of reporting through the Advanced Reporting Feature. You can customize just about any type of report you are looking for. This is extremely helpful for my organization as we are in the financial services industry and must provide different types of completion statistics to auditors/regulators on a regular basis. The interface is extremely user-friendly. You can create a course in minutes along with set different parameters for the course. If there is a video in the course you can customize/disable playback controls and safeguard how the employee navigates through the course. You can also enforce modular sequence within a course that requires some or all course elements to be completed before the employee can 'pass' the course, and so much more! It's hard to nail down a dislike but I guess there is always room for improvement right? Depending on what type of report you are pulling, it could take quite some time. There are larger reports such as an All User report. This report contains all of the users in the platform (active/inactive/disabled) and what courses they were enrolled in along with completion statistics for courses completed. Due to the amount of information on this report, it can take some time to download. This could cause a slight inconvenience based on how quickly you need the information. SkyPrep was an excellent choice for our organization both in its inexpensive cost and ease of use. During implementation, the SkyPrep team worked closely with us to make sure we were successful in meeting our goals and often responded to inquiries within a business day. The platform is customizable enough that I feel I have enough control of the system without requiring significant HTML or coding knowledge to make it work. Also, the learner experience is very straightforward, which is necessary considering most of the audience is not as technically savvy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

SkyPrep is growing, so not all features are currently available or are in development. For example, it just released gamification last year. Additionally, I would like to customize some elements that I cannot, like removing the bar that appears above eLearning modules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's very easy to use. It's easy to upload all the materials for a course. I like the way you can define groups, this fits in perfectly with the way we identify our learners, and makes it easy to add new staff. Once they are assigned to a group, we just add them to the tool, assign the group and all the required courses are automatically assigned. The automated training reminders will save us a lot of work. I wish there were more options for retaining certificates. Currently when I update a course, the old certificate goes away. I would like the option to retain the old certificate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There's a weak point in the way SkyPrep handles notifications. I would like to see this automated, but so far, it's been a manual process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the ease of navigation for both administrators and for learners. Also, the ability to create multiple courses within a Learning Path, create initial and recurrent training timelines, run reports that allow me to drill down to whatever data I am looking for and then pull those reports for training verification is fantastic. Creating a customised learning platform was easy (even for a non-IT person!). The LMS is easy to navigate, the online tutorials are really well done, and the allocation of a "Customer Success Leader" enabled continuity in personal contact and the ability for an expert to follow my journey, give advice and recommendations, and encourages feedback for future improvements. A little more flexibility in upgrading specific features individually rather than plan only. For example, to access more detailed reporting features, we would have to pay more than double the monthly fee to upgrade to the next plan, although do not need any other feature except better reporting data. SkyPrep is incredibly user friendly. Very easy to navigate. Huge upgrade from out previous platform.
