SketchUp is a powerful tool for designing, planning, and presenting projects of all kinds. In conjunction with layout, it is also very useful for creating shop drawings. The interface is relatively simple and there is a wide selection of useful information and digital assets available online. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
SketchUp has a bit of a learning curve, and complicated shapes can be tricky to draw. The layout interface is not as intuitive and feels like it could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Easy to convey any design ideas. Imports and exports well/speak to other programs well. Use it a lot. Easy to implement. So many features! Customer support is always helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cannot do any fly-through videos or super-detail renderings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ease of use. Best 3D navigation. Large availability of pre-modeled content through the 3D Warehouse. Plays very well with Revit. Wide array of rendering styles available. New Revit export tool allows for easy import of Revit models into SketchUp. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Does not have parametric and data-driven features (BIM). Not a solids-based modeler, so issues can occur with reversed faces if not modeled carefully. If using for conceptual design, over-modeling makes transition into Revit for BIM difficult (Vertical faces become walls, horizontal faces become floors or roofs, etc.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The user friendly tools that are present which allows us to draft 3D objects very preciesly and easily with reduced time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The product cannot create BIM like Revit but for 3d modelling ,this is good Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I enjoy SketchUp and find that what is most helpful is that it allows for me to make mistakes and learn from them. Also, there is no limit to design and building. It can be used in almost any way to create something wonderful - truly inspiring Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I would say I dislike and would be interested in seeing changed would be the extensions. I am a landscape designer and am self-taught with SketchUp. There were many times early on that I wanted to manipulate my design; however, I wasn't able to until I found out about extensions, which have made my life easier. I would find it valuable if SketchUp offered a subscription service that have every extension available to me based on how I use SketchUp for my work, this way I have everything available to me and in my opinion would be able to provide even better design creations for my clients. The best thing about SketchUp is its flexibiltiy throughout a project. If a dimension changes - I can make the update on the model and it's updated in all other instances. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a fairly steep learning curve for the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
