I like how versatile it is and that it gives me the ability to visualize my designs and help sell the vision to my clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are very few things I don't like, but if I had to pick something it would be having a few additional tools to quickly create my models. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the ability to mamipulate models on the fly. This helps as I work through design development with the client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish a lot more companies, such as windows, have there products as components. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is so fast for me to show my clients the scale of the items I want to bring into their space...and why that gigantic sectional sofa doesn't fit! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the textures are a little flat and some of the items in the 3D warehouse are unnecessarily large which can slow down your model. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sketch up is just about perfect as a design software for me as a small architect.
I would give it a 9 out of 10 as a software package.
I love it because it is so intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact that it has gone to subscription is very troubling to me.
It crashed during a meeting, which had to be cancelled mid point in the meeting.
Customer service was almost no-existant. A support phone number was nowhere to be found. Chat and concierge were no help.
I will have no access (unless I have made pdfs) to anything I have ever made in sketchup once I stop paying subscription. I would galdly pay much more for a classic license again.
The fact that there is no support phone number shown is the thing I dislike most about Sketchup.
That is the opposite of customer service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The things I like most are the ease and quickness of modeling, the plug in extensions, the ability to render realistic scenes with V-Ray, the ease of importing and exporting .dwg cad files, the various linetype styles for a hand-drawn appearance, and organization and shortcuts used for the toolsets. I have really enjoyed using the online version with it's contemporary and minimalist interface and wish there was an option to use that in the desktop version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
That you can create a 3D rendering of a home and have it look realistic with views from outside the windows and add textures Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
That the tool bar changes when I open different files. That it's hard to learn if you don't have a good teacher Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The 3D warehouse is what makes SketchUp such a powerful tool. I can quickly download models into my project, which saves a great amount of time and gives a nice finishing touch. And it's also an easy way to share my models with others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Coming from a SolidWorks background, it would be nice to have better modeling and dimensioning tools. That is my main drawback. SketchUp seems much more oriented toward rendering, visualization, and architechure and less toward engineering. It would of course be great to have both. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
