What I don't like is that many of the images that are hosted, the poses of some images don't work entirely, and it would be good if they started updating the photo entries to the image bank in a better way since many become repetitive, and that limits when wanting to compose a design. I hate the fact that they charge a 25% tax. I tried to input VAT numbers from three different countries where our business is legally registered, but each time it says "invalid VAT number."

I would prefer if they raised the price by 25% rather than overcharging me in this way. I have tried reaching customer support multiple times and never received an answer.

I had the absolute worst experience with Shutterstock. I signed up for what I thought was a simple trial, only to find out later that they locked me into a YEAR-LONG subscription without any clear warning! Nowhere during the trial sign-up did they clearly state that I'd be trapped into a year-long commitment. To make matters worse, there’s no way out of it. They keep charging me month after month, even though I only used the platform once. I feel completely scammed and helpless. This is NOT how a business should operate. They need to seriously change the way they handle their subscriptions. I regret ever signing up, and I wouldn’t recommend this platform to anyone. It's the worst I’ve ever encountered. Whenever I need to download the high-definition images Shutterstock helps me get the set of images. The quality of these images is mostly 4k and Ultra HD. I can't remember what competitors do but when there are images that have the same model, it makes my job so much easier to write stories. When there isn't the same model, we have to manipulate the graphic design with shadows and lighting and spend a lot of time looking for similar models.

I wasn't always happy with the inventory but it has gotten better over the years. The artists can impact my like/dislike as well. It can be really frustrating looking for professional female models only to find sexist versions with high heels, compromising positions or gestures and just basically less professional than males.

I like the fact that Shutterstock seems to have more local-oriented photos on the site. They're very easy to find and easy to download and use. The quality of the images I have used is high, and they're not on multiple other sites like their competitors. I use the site at least once a month and they have some interesting features I am just now beginning to explore. My only issue with customer support was handled quickly and easily. The best part of Shutterstock is that it is quite easy to navigate and implement in your business. It also has the largest stock of media content including images, videos, audio etc. We integrate all of its content to third-party photo and video editing platforms.
