Most data dictionaries target engineers and technical users. They focus on table schemas and metadata, which is useful in an engineering and data science context, but is not geared towards the rest of the business.

By comparison, Secoda is a data dictionary/knowledge platform for anyone. By pairing technical documentation and lineage with wiki/Papers style pages, data consumers in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain can search for terms they use daily and find related resources helpful to their work.
