Top Rated ScreenPal Alternatives

The tool is easy to install and use. I like the ease of editing features, the music that I can add, and the hight resolution quality of the videos. I like the fact that I can use the writing tools as I record. No other powerful recording system has this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like to be able to create 4K videos and be able to have all the features that Camtasia has. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Administration tools could be more robust. I would like to be able to create limited administrators in the system with specific rights and limited to certain collections of videos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how user friendly ScreenPal is to use. It has a lot of great features to add ot videos once you become familiar with the platform. I also love that you can add your own resources or access their resource bank for music, images, and videos. I love that I can add questions and checks for understanding throughout my videos to make sure my students are paying attention along the way. I use it all the time! There is a little bit of a learning curve, but once you understand the basics, many of the features work the same way. Sometimes it is hard to get an exact cut because it only lets you "zoom in" on the track to a certain point, but for my use, it isn't a big deal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The reason that I like ScreenPal is because it is easy to download & Install as well as easy to use. I can capture my screen, provide voice over, and even trim videos within seconds. Screenplay saves so much time for me. At my ESL class, I use ScreenPal to make entertaining lessons such as explain grammar rules or a vocabulary game. I also record pronunciation guides and interactive writing tips to better assist my students in their practice. Moreover, I employ it to explain the corrections regarding assignments to make the learning process easier and fun for my learners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like the fact that there is some option in ScreenPal that you have to pay for. The free version only provides limited recording time and the number of available editing tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ScreenPal is very easy to use, and once you have an account, the files remain ready to go back and make any changes you need at a later time. I also really like all the 'call out' and editing features, which again, once you've worked out where they all are, are very easy and quick to use.
Once I started using it, it all became second nature and all the videos are in date order, so easier to find. I probably use it about once a week for quite detailed tutorials. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes I would like to see a bigger screen of the video while I edit it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Of all the new AI-powered tools I've come across—considering that a million more seem to pop up every minute—ScreenPal stands out for its incredible versatility across platforms, right when you need it. As a learning experience designer, I constantly need to capture and record how-to and testing videos. ScreenPal not only lets me record my screen but also enables me to add my voice or camera to explain step-by-step processes across various applications and devices. The best part? I can edit everything seamlessly on mobile, tablet, or desktop and even add quizzes to my videos! This application is an absolute game-changer. Its AI features analyze my captured content and automatically create assessments. I’ve used other screen recording apps that compete with major video editors, but they take up a lot of storage space and require tedious management of saved content—sorting through mistakes and keeping the best footage organized. With ScreenPal, I can save all my work directly to the cloud storage provided with my account.
This tool is a lifesaver for software instruction, making it a quick and efficient one-and-done solution. The team behind it clearly knows what they're doing! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Using ScreenPal at my desk prevents me from using OBS software simultaneously—a habit I’ve developed because I prefer OBS’s chroma key over most browser-based options. That said, the ScreenPal chroma key gets the job done and comes with a full library of media overlays, backgrounds, and music. I’ll admit, I’m probably being a bit old-school by trying to juggle too many apps at once, which can strain my RAM. For a smoother recording experience, it’s always better to run fewer apps while capturing to avoid delays caused by slow performance. When you consider that ScreenPal includes all these tools, media options, and storage in one app, you realize it’s exactly what you needed all along! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It does an excellent job of creating screencasts, capturing them, and distributing them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It isn't free, but many things that are worth having aren't free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It works as advertised and it is easy to use. But on its own, locally running ScreenPal appears to offer no features over and above what I had with Screencast-o-matic Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No local AI capabilities. Couldn't see any mention about hosted AI capabilities that would help make my video editing tasks go faster or more efficiently such as auto removing my many 'ums', 'ahs', 'so', etc. Removing low level noise automatically such as when I breathe in deeply when I'm about to speak. Auto speeding up 2+ second delays into a 1-second delay, etc. This is the vast majority of my edits.
I also dislike that the install of ScreenPal auto-removed my existing install of Screencast-o-matic without asking my permission first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how ScreenPal is user-friendly and the features that are available help to make it easy to integrate and into so many classroom implementations for both in-person and virtual instruction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have yet to find anything about ScreenPall that I dislike! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have trouble remediating areas of weakness for my students that I teach. I use ScreenPal to record video tutorials that they can play over and over to themselves as I don't have the time to repeat myself. This is especially useful when I include captions for my English Language Learners. I can't teach without it. Have been a proud and devoted user since 2017. As for me as a night student at a technical college, I use it to watch and rewatch important key parts of Zoom lectures using the screen recorder feature. I am an auditory learner. Many times I just let the online lectures replay as I am cleaning my house. I need to see and hear some things again and again just like my own classroom students. I have no complaints. I just need to find the time to complete the different free trainings to enhance my videos that I create. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have been using this software since it was called "Screencast-O-Matic" and I have to say it has helped me TREMENDOUSLY throughout my business and career. It is so simple and straightforward to use that I'd highly recommend it to anyone. The Support is also WAY above industry standards that you see these days. Truly there is no need to look elsewhere, this will work for you, no matter what type of machine you use (personally I am a Mac user, but also used to use it on a PC). None. Seriously. It's a fantastic system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
