What do you like best about Base SAS?

I have been a mainframe user for majority of my career. Due to change in job profile, I got an opportunity to learn SAS and was impressed with the functions and data handling capabilities SAS offers to developers as well as end users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Base SAS?

Numerous build-in functions with strict standards and detailed references. Capability of doing complicated data analysis in a few lines of code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Base SAS?

The functions are too well-developed that sometimes it feels lack of freedom. Somewhat anti-intuitive sometimes who got used to the way of data manipulating in other languages such as python or R. Also trying to write a function for algorithms that is not already included in sas is painful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Base SAS solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am doing some data analysis with SAS and one thing I've noticed is that the ability of repeating is very nice. The lack of freedom in SAS actually allows different people to reach to the same results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about SAS/STAT?

SAS is great because you can load multiple datasets within the GUI at once Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAS/STAT?

There are some functions/commands that are not available in SAS that are often better in other softwares Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Base SAS?

The interface is very friendly, where a beginner can catch on. The web support for SAS is superb; I could always find documentation on coding and functionality online. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
