"Reliable but Complex ERP System for Enterprises"
What do you like best about SAP ECC?

My favorite feature of SAP ECC is its ability to robustly manage complex, large-scale business processes across different departments, such as finance, logistics, and procurement, within a single integrated system. SAP ECC offers strong data integrity, customizable modules, and deep control over business operations, making it ideal for large enterprises with strict compliance and reporting requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP ECC?

What I dislike about SAP ECC is its steep learning curve and outdated user interface. The system can feel unintuitive and cumbersome, especially for new or non-technical users. Customizations often require ABAP development or costly consulting support, which increases implementation and maintenance costs. Additionally, integration with modern tools and cloud-based platforms can be challenging without significant effort.

It's a very powerful system, but configuring and managing it can be just as challenging or costly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Deep Dive into SAP ECC: Review and Retrospective"
What do you like best about SAP ECC?

One of the standout features of SAP ECC is its comprehensive and integrated core functionality, especially within the robust Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules. This level of integration ensures a single source of truth across multiple business processes, such as procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and production, which leads to real-time data consistency and precise financial reporting. The system's proven stability and its ability to handle complex, large-scale business operations make it a highly reliable and mature ERP solution, providing a strong foundation for effective enterprise management. What do you dislike about SAP ECC?

One of the main disadvantages of SAP ECC is its outdated user interface, known as SAP GUI, which many find unintuitive. This results in a steep learning curve and lower user adoption rates when compared to more modern software solutions. Additionally, the system's overall complexity and high total cost of ownership present significant challenges. Managing, maintaining, and upgrading ECC—particularly when there are extensive customizations—can be a complicated, time-consuming, and expensive process. It often necessitates hiring costly external consultants and makes adapting business processes more rigid. On top of these issues, the approaching end-of-support date for ECC (with mainstream maintenance ending in 2027) forces companies to consider a mandatory, expensive, and complex migration to S/4HANA. "Tightly Integrated Modules with Real-Time Visibility Across the Business"
What do you like best about SAP ECC?

SAP ECC’s greatest strength is its tight integration across business modules, including Finance, Materials, Sales, Human Resources (HR), Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and more. With a shared, integrated data model, it provides real-time visibility, keeps information consistent, and supports smooth, connected workflows across different departments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP ECC?

Many users find the SAP ECC interface complex, cumbersome, and outdated, which can make day-to-day operations unnecessarily difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best and Useful Software - SAP"
What do you like best about SAP ECC?

Data entry record is very detailed and arranged. Presentation is best, anybody can easily use as this is a transaction code based software, each and every transaction code has its separate importance. Vendor management, Receivable management, Purchase and Stock (MM) Model, FICO, Customisation etc. apart from above Budget and Comparison, Tax Calculation, Customized Reports, Variance Analysis, Tax Return, Payroll Management, Cashiering Management, Vendors Payment and Customer Refund System through NEFT and Cheque, Debtors Ageing, Payment Trails etc. A lot to describe, fabulous software genuinely. "Robust ERP for Complex Business Needs, But Not User-Friendly"
What do you like best about SAP ECC?

What I like best about SAP ECC is the level of integration it offers across all business functions. Whether it’s finance, procurement, inventory, or sales, everything runs through a single platform, which eliminates the need for separate systems and greatly reduces data inconsistencies. The real-time reporting capabilities are another major plus—having access to live data helps us make informed decisions quickly. I also appreciate how configurable the system is; even though it has a standard structure, we’ve been able to tailor it to fit our specific processes and compliance requirements. For a large organization with complex operations, the system’s reliability and scalability really stand out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP ECC?

The system can be overwhelming for new users, and even experienced employees sometimes struggle with navigating through multiple transactions and screens to perform what should be simple tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Integrated ERP Workhorse With an Outdated UX"
What do you like best about SAP ECC?

What I like best about SAP ECC is how tightly integrated everything is.

Because FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, etc. all live in one consistent data model, you get:

End-to-end process visibility – from purchase requisition → goods receipt → invoice → payment → FI/CO postings, everything ties out automatically.

Single source of truth – fewer reconciliations and spreadsheets, because logistics and finance are always in sync.

Mature, stable platform – it’s battle-tested and very predictable in how it behaves.

Powerful customization – via customizing (IMG), user exits, BADIs, and BAPIs you can adapt it to pretty complex real-world processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP ECC?

What I dislike most about SAP ECC is how rigid and clunky it can feel in day-to-day use.

A few specifics:

Old-school UX

Lots of transaction codes, non-intuitive screens, and inconsistent layouts. New users are basically forced to “learn SAP” instead of just learning the process.

Complex customizing & dependencies

Small changes in configuration or master data can have side effects in other modules, so you need deep expertise and lots of testing for even modest tweaks.

Limited out-of-the-box reporting

Standard reports are often not enough, so you end up relying on custom reports, SQ01 queries, or exporting everything to Excel / BW.

Error messages & logs

Messages can be cryptic and very technical, which makes troubleshooting slower than it should be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable ERP Backbone with Complex Navigation"
What do you like best about SAP ECC?

SAP ECC offers extensive modular integration across business functions like Finance, HR, Procurement, and Logistics. The real-time data processing and reliability make it a dependable ERP platform for large enterprises. It supports comprehensive reporting and workflow customization, which are valuable for consultants and clients alike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP ECC?

The interface feels outdated and non-intuitive for new users. Navigation can be complex, and implementation often demands significant time and training. Its responsiveness is slower compared to cloud-native platforms. Additionally, the lack of flexibility in adapting to rapidly changing business needs can be a bottleneck in fast-paced environments. The connection with cross modules is really good. As a ERP it does most of the work very efficiently saves time and effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP ECC?

First initial set up require really long time and effort also the support is ending soon that is also a thing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
