What do you like best about Rocket Enterprise Analyzer (formerly a Micro Focus product)?

This is one of the finest tool in the market for code base analysis. It is easy to use and implement in the enviornment. It can be integrated with lot of DB's for quick results.

The tool provides good impact analysis capabilities. It also helps in performing code analysis and gives enough options to analyze the programs via flow charts, diagrams, animator options to walk through the codes, etc. There are other options that are useful in long-term use in projects which includes BRM which provides business intelligence reports after we give inputs on business functions on programs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rocket Enterprise Analyzer (formerly a Micro Focus product)?

The tool is much more competent w.r.t. previous tools like Revolve etc. but still the scoping of bigger projects and related options to get dependency, and diagrams are not that great. We do have to rely on a lot of manual analysis. It would be good if there is an option to look at level-wise analysis of complex programming and intercoupling between objects to scope our analysis.

It also fails in getting analysis from a lot of schedular programs which is still the tool limitation. It only supports a minimal 1-2 schedule in the tool.

There are a lot of limitations in the tool w.r.t. impact analysis. We already submitted 4-5 cases with the support and it has come to us as product limitations which include the animator option in impact analysis for source code other than COBOL, backtracing of programs capabilities (not too great) etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Rocket Enterprise Analyzer (formerly a Micro Focus product) solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are able to find the impact analysis to much extent and it helps us reduce the manual way of finding impacted components.

It helps us to visualize the code logic via diagrams and helps generate the readily report but still, this needs a lot of improvements.

The integration of tools with all the objects helps interdependency but a few of the objects are yet to be integrated like REXX etc. which makes a manual effort.

The overall time spent on analysis gets reduced and it is handy for anyone to use it with some knowledge on options which is big help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenText Solutions Business Manager (SBM)?

The best ticketing tool available around the market is MicroFocus Service Request Management Software. I have been using it since the past year and have used two modules namely Incident Management & Change Management. The form creation for ticket creation is quite simple, hassle-free, and easy to understand, and since it is all database-related data storage and data loss prevention is quite good. And since it is a workflow-based ticketing system the user can create as many scenarios as required and it will work fine. The microfocus support is also good they reply on mails and when needed they setup a call for the resolution of query. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenText Solutions Business Manager (SBM)?

The UI for the client should be a little better, many times there are UI-related glitches and then you need to restart the whole application. And idle session time out should be more because many times while thinking of the logic on the workflow it gets timed out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenText Solutions Business Manager (SBM) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Since we are an organization we have "Incidents" taking place and to make a ticket for the incident that happened and for its resolution we use it. There are different end users from within the organization and we use the software to make a workflow-based ticketing system for them so that they can create a ticket for the same and then assign it to various teams and then resolve it. What do you like best about Rocket Enterprise Server (formerly a Micro Focus product)?

Micro Focus Enterprise Server is one of the best tools that has come in the market which brings a revolution in the way people look at the legacy application. We have witnessed cost savings of up to 60% by moving the application from the legacy mainframe. This brings most of the legacy applications to fit in without even giving a feel of the interface. It has a good capability of integration with legacy sub-systems and newer platform which brings added features at no cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rocket Enterprise Server (formerly a Micro Focus product)?

The Micro Focus Enterprise Server is good in most aspects evolving every year we have been working for years but a few things that can bring more value when compared to the mainframe legacy are security, heaviness of the application, and stability with higher loads.

We have always been able to trade-off on these aspects considering cost and MF is evolving well on these aspects over years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Rocket Enterprise Server (formerly a Micro Focus product) solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is key for day-to-day business operations, development, and UAT testing, and one of the tools which are really live and tested hard for any organization's implementation to be called a success.

We have seen a major cut in cost 100% from development and UAT environment where multiple users can work parallelly on multiple regions/users with core licenses. The production environment has been pretty stable helping with cost-effectiveness by ~ 60%. We have used the system in banking, insurance, and many key domains and it has outperformed well. What do you like best about OpenText Deployment Automation?

This is one of the best tools found in the market for deployment automation. We have been using a lot of MF products but always had a separate tool for deployment and in a way, it brings another manual intervention around. Bringing this tool makes things seamless and integrated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenText Deployment Automation?

The product is far better than anything available in the market. The product can be a bit lightweight helping the teams working remotely. Even though the product provided almost integration with all the cloud services platforms and with every fix it has evolved a lot which should be acceptable with the product journey. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenText Deployment Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?

The product provides the seamless delivery of the application changes and frequency is most important it helped us. We used to have delivery of changes monthly cycle which improved to a weekly cycle, it was only possible with a good tool. With DevOps getting modeled in most of the application approaches, it will be more helpful. It helped us to get the turn around time to get the release done faster, getting bug fixes/review process getting more straightened to business needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
