One thing I’d love to see improved is deeper automation and integrations. The platform abstracts away a lot of the complexity around telephony, speech recognition, and LLM orchestration, which makes it incredibly powerful for building production-grade voice experiences. The real-time responsiveness and flexibility in designing conversational flows are especially impressive. It’s also great how configurable the system is—you can fine-tune prompts, manage variables, and integrate with external systems without needing a heavy infrastructure lift. What do you like best about Retell AI?

We've been using Retell AI to power the voice agents for our AI receptionist product for medical clinics in Dubai. After evaluating several alternatives, Retell stood out for its low latency, natural-sounding conversations, and the flexibility it gives you in building complex agent flows.

The dynamic variables feature is a game changer for us — it lets us run a single agent that serves multiple clinics, each with their own name, doctors, hours, and custom information injected at call time. The transfer call functionality works reliably, and the web call SDK made it easy to embed a live demo directly on our website.

The prompt-based approach gives you full control over agent behaviour without needing to touch any underlying model code. The LLM swap feature is also useful — we've tested different models and can switch without rebuilding anything.

Support has been responsive and the documentation is solid. The dashboard gives good visibility into call logs and agent performance.

What do you dislike about Retell AI?

The main limitation we've run into is the lack of native support for UAE or Middle East phone numbers — we currently have to use US numbers and forward calls, which adds a small amount of friction for our clinic clients. A wider range of supported regions for phone number provisioning would make Retell a complete end-to-end solution.

The analytics dashboard could also be more detailed — things like per-agent call breakdowns and language detection would save us from having to build those features ourselves. Minor issues overall given how strong the core product is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I came into this quite sceptical - I had never really done anything more advanced in AI than using ChatGPT. I spent hours researching to make sure I was using the right system & that led me to Retell AI.
