What do you like best about QA USA?

The in-depth content provided by experienced instructors. The easy interface, and the learning paths are fantastic to help you keep your focus on the skills you need. I can easily build a study plan to achieve my goals, and track my progress using Cloud Academy platform. In addition, there is an open channel with support team and instructors, you can use to submit your questions, and get the proper guidance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QA USA?

Nothing so far! I'm using Cloud Academy as my personal training platform, and I keep looking for something to improve, however, I didn't see anything to suggest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about QA USA?

The material they cover in the lecture style content strikes an appropriate balance of depth and approach-ability. The interface is easy to navigate. The video playback speed can be increased. They provide labs where you actually go into AWS to accomplish tasks (on their dime). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QA USA?

I paid for Cloud Academy specifically to prepare myself and two team members for the AWS Machine Learning Specialist certification, so that was the track we followed and what my review is based on.

First, some of the content is out of date:

• Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Amazon Machine Learning – this course focuses on a discontinued offering from AWS which has been entirely replaced by AWS Sagemaker. New customers have no access the old Machine Learning platform at all. So not only is this whole course useless in exam prep, it features fairly heavily in the ‘practice exam’ offered in the course.

• Introduction to Amazon Rekognition – aspects of this training (we sent in comments about this) were out of date with the way the offering currently works.

Second, the balance of content doesn’t reflect the actual exam:

• While Cloud Academy provided a whole section on IAM, this represented a very small fraction of the actual exam. The exam had a lot of focus on the usage of VPC, however, which is never covered despite there being courses available on Cloud Academy on this topic.

• Storage Fundamentals for AWS dives into the multiplicity of offerings around S3 with some coverage on EBS and EFS. The actual exam treats S3 as a single offering and asks questions around S3/VPC. The exam ask a *lot* about Kinesis and it’s offerings which are not included in the track despite there being courses available.

• The practice exam at the end asks a lot of very specific questions about exact usage of tools like Rekognition/Lex (like what the exact API call is) but the exam treats these as easy, slide-in solutions without concerning itself beyond the key offerings. Missing from the Cloud Academy track (and overall it looks like) is coverage of Comprehend, Transcribe, Translate.

• Nothing about serverless (Lambda specifically) is part of the offering.

• Coverage of AWS Sagemaker is limited to a single lab when it would benefit from a full course covering the Notebook offerings, Training Jobs, Inference Endpoints and Hyperparameter Tuning. Actually, it would be great if there was a course on hyperparameter tuning at all. These are all topics that appear frequently in the exam.

Other Notes:

• While the labs are slick in the sense that I actually get to go to AWS and practice stuff, the Sagemaker, CPU/GPU and Style Transfer with MXNet labs are just copy/paste exercises with no opportunity to dig in beyond following the exact instructions. I believe these would benefit from providing people with the code/instructions to do it on their own account as follow-up.

• The audio balancing in the material isn’t great, we all struggled to hear and understand some of the instructors even with the volume maxed out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about QA USA?

I like the dashboard where you can see your progress through and assignment and the links out to expand your learning on particular courses. The hands on labs really help cement your knowledge.

The variety of topics available for learning is very extensive and I also like the way the the course content is regularly updated.

I did leave some feedback on one course, about it being to quick and I was pleased to get an quick response from the author and I did feel connected to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QA USA?

I think for some of the courses there are a lot of modules and if you cant commit good chunks of time to learning, sometimes the exams question can refer to topics you covered a while back. This is more of a time management issue rather than the course. However I swear I have had a few exam questions whose answers were not on the course.

The course updates are great, however I have had a situation where I had to leave a module partially completed and when I returned to it, some of the content had been updated so I had to revisit it. To be fair this just reinforced what I learnt and second time around I realised how much I had learnt from the first run. I suggest you see a module through once you start it. What do you like best about QA USA?

Each training module is complete, it seems to cover all the bases for each subject I have gone though training for. Its nice because they have videos complete with screen shots of the action you will be completing on AWS or Azure, plus there is also a text translation of what the instructor said so you can read it instead of watching, if that suits your learning process better. The labs are challenging without being overly difficult, I have had really no issues completing them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QA USA?

I wish there were some additional labs or optional ones you could go through, but what they have is definitely adequate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
