I love having access to Pushover's API, which makes adding push notifications to personal dev projects I'm working on. I also love the way you can use a variety of programming languages, including Python which is ideally suited for use on a Raspberry Pi. This makes sending push notifications really simple, and their API documentation is fantastically presented. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing really - it's a fantastically simple, yet affordable solution. Whilst you can use it without a license, so essentially free, the benefits of paying a one-time fee to do so is perfectly reasonable. The only minor issue I have is sometimes getting my custom icon to work as it often appears with a black background due to the PNG. It's not very clear on how to avoid this however.
