What do you like best about Pushover?

You can customize the notification which really matters to you. Provides a kind of edge to existing phone / device notification system as it treats all the notification in same way and same priority.

You can simply choose customized alarm sound based on notification like for alerts we have chosen some emergency threshold sound which gives us reminder for purging activity.

Good support on web and app for both Android and IOS.

Charging model is pretty straight based on one time charges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pushover?

As such there is no dislikes but there has not been any major changes since the I started using it. As end user I expect new feature surprises on periodic basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Strongly commandeered app, if you are already spending a lots of time in cluttered and messy notification.

Well Organized notification enabler!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some the problems which we are addressing in terms of notifications are:

And it's cloud based deployment so very easily accessible.

Quick and Easy integration with

-> IFTTT,

-> network monitors like Nagios, shell scripts, servers etc.

-> It's well documented and can be understand very quickly.

-> Email Alias is it's one of the selling point I can say.

What do you like best about Pushover?

I love having access to Pushover's API, which makes adding push notifications to personal dev projects I'm working on. I also love the way you can use a variety of programming languages, including Python which is ideally suited for use on a Raspberry Pi. This makes sending push notifications really simple, and their API documentation is fantastically presented. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pushover?

Nothing really - it's a fantastically simple, yet affordable solution. Whilst you can use it without a license, so essentially free, the benefits of paying a one-time fee to do so is perfectly reasonable. The only minor issue I have is sometimes getting my custom icon to work as it often appears with a black background due to the PNG. It's not very clear on how to avoid this however. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Pushover:

Whilst you would need to pay for a subscription to unlock the full potential, it is very affordable and well worth the money, especially if you are a budding developer on a Raspberry Pi! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pushover solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a developer, I like being able to have notifications on any projects I'm working on, particularly for anything that involves a Raspberry Pi. With Pushover, I can develop my own solution using their extremely easy to use API and it allows me to trigger push notifications on my iPhone and iPad with ease.
