PropelAuth is a fantastic auth provider when it comes to B2B SaaS products. I've previously used Auth0, Cognito and Firebase and none of those come close to what PropelAuth has offered in terms of simplicity and features for our product. Their support is also top notch, the very few times I've had to reach out to them they've sent a response right away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I honestly can't think of anything that PropelAuth is lacking. When first started using their service they're docs were a bit lacking, but they have been updated since and are really well structured and easy to use now, not to mention beautifully designed ✨ Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is not much not to like; their support is fantastic, and their product is what all B2B companies need. They included unlimited Enterprise SSO which is key compared to the legacy companies such as Auth0 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't have anything I dislike. I can maybe come up with a few minor feature requests, not key and again if you compare the legacy players it very minor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
PropelAuth is not only an incredibly built product, but the team at PropelAuth is super responsive and helpful.
My intention was to not have to think about how things work, and PropelAuth makes it really easy for me to get security to work the way I want it to without having to get into the details. Just super easy.
In particular, I really like how it designs for different environments (testing, staging, production) out of the box. And I was blown away at the support for SSO with just a couple clicks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the only downside is that PropelAuth is newer, so the product is changing and evolving quickly. Sometimes that means you figure out a workaround or solution that becomes obselete because they just rolled out first-class support for the problem you had! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PropelAuth made it easy to implement authentication for our B2B SaaS application that needs to support a single login page for logging into multiple different environments as well as have support for our customers to create API keys to use against our API. While there are many different features within PropelAuth, the basic authentication layer can be used by its self to get things moving, and then the additonal features can be layered on top as they become useful. On top of all that, the fact that we no longer need to worry about implementing support for additional SAML providers and types of multi-factor authentication simplifies our roadmap for keeping authentication into out system modern and secure. PropelAuth is still in a rapid development mode, and so there are a lot of updated to the UI and freatures so it can make it hard to keep track of what is possible and where settings are. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Prior to using PropelAuth, we were using Auth0 and were considering using Okta. Auth was a headache, and I'd consistently block out a large part of my day to deal with some aspect of auth – slowing us down.
With PropelAuth, I think I've spent about a day – total – on auth over the past year. PropelAuth was easy to set up and integrate with our existing stack, and I use features like user impersonation nearly every day to help debug user's issues. The built-in SSO/SAML support has helped us clear the way for larger integrations with our partners.
When we have run into issues or need additional functionality, the PropelAuth team has been incredibly responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although there is MFA support, there isn't native support for Yubikeys yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PropelAuth cut the time it took to implement auth for our webapp from weeks to a single day. The features it offers are meticuously though out making it super easy to manage as many users and organizations as you might have. Instead of having to think through all of the logic I needed, PropelAuth had everything out of the box. Whenever I had a question about implementation, their customer support team responded within minutes with a solution or to help me troubleshoot. I woul highly reccomend this to anyone managing users for their web app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't dislike anything about PropelAuth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PropelAuth has been nothing short of an amazing experience for us. It's easy to use, reliable, and it has everything we need. We haven't had to spend much time on auth at all after setting it up, and Andrew is always quick to help if we have any questions as well.
Being able to offer SAML/SSO to our customers without having to put in any extra work to support it has been a superpower as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are no particular downsides for us at the moment Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PropelAuth stands out for its ease of integration and user-friendly approach, especially with its Next.js SDK for both frontend and backend. Its organization features are particularly impressive, simplifying roles, permissions, and user management, which is invaluable for B2B SaaS applications. The setup is straightforward, and the documentation is clear, making the development process smooth and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although PropelAuth covers essential authentication needs effectively, it may lack some advanced features found in more complex solutions. However, this is balanced by their quick feature updates and responsive customer support. Even when a specific feature is missing, the team's commitment to rapid development and attentiveness to user feedback ensures that any gaps are quickly addressed. Propel Auth is fantastic. It's very easy to get integrated into your existing stack with very little headache. The team is also incredibly friendly and the support is great. We were building a custom Java extension for datagrip and the propel auth team did a great jobn of supporting us with our unusual use case. The built in support for organizations, external auth providers, custom branding are great as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no complaints thus far. Propel Auth has been a joy to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My favorite thing about PropelAuth is how little I think about it. After the initial setup, it's stayed out of our way and continued to operate well as we scale. The team is attentive to our needs and has helped us out on the few occasions where we couldn't resolve things on our own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Choosing to use a third-party auth provider is always a build/buy choice, with the usual upsides and downsides of that. We have been happy to be able to rely on a competent external team at a fraction of the cost of building the same system internally, but that's a decision for every company to consider.
