I appreciate Cision's influencer rating. It's another metric I can push to my clients to tell them here's who we should be reaching out to and why. I also appreciate the ease of using keywords and categories to build my media outlet/contact list. Finally, the integration of social media information and been helpful in pitching contacts and giving them social media content as something extra to promote a topic. Smaller, local publications are not always represented in Cision's database. The inclusion of Vocus may change that, but for now, it takes a while to get contacts from the small pubs. The analytics for news clip gathering are a bit sparse, but they give an overall high level of info. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

(1) I like that I can build new lists targeting exactly the people my clients want to reach.
(2) I like that past lists are archived so I don't need to start from scratch to re-distribute a story.
(3) I like the fact that once I explain what Cision does and how it can tell the story to the world, it actually has helped me to gain new clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's expensive. The only way I can afford this as an independent consultant is to share the cost with others. Also, this past year -- after I had become proficient with the product -- they changed the format - which takes a while to learn. I wish it were a bit more user-friendly. There are lots of features that may be great but I am afraid to experiment with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our company hasn't had any problems so far using Cision for our PR and communications needs. I used PR web before the merger of Vocus and Cision and I've seen a marked improvement in the UI since the merger last year. The interface is much easier to read, although the font itself is a bit thin, with low contrast (which is hard for someone with bad eyesight for me to read.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Confirmation screen is a little bit confusing, other than that no issues. I'd like more pointers on where to find media contacts, as well as delete duplicate and/or redundant entries in the platforms/contact lists. Also, there are not very many distribution outlets for companies within our industry (non profit technology and software development) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ease of creating new media lists and saving them for all of our users to access. Also, it's nice to have preset templates to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it's difficult to find what I'm looking for within the system. Things that seem like they should be accessible while in a template, for example, are actually hidden behind tabs and you have to dig deep to find them. I also don't love how a new "list" is saved each time a distribution is sent out. These are titled "Job-12345," for example, and mess up the organization of our lists. I have to go in and delete them each time; just a pain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to perform searches and the platform gives a lot of detailed information about the outlet and contacts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can't search for specific producers, like morning, noon, weekend. You can only look for contacts at a station covering news. Very general search. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The vast amount of media outlets available to us. is really helpful when trying to build ,media lists.
It's easy to put in keywords and see how well they match with results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the amount of information is overwhelming. Also I find when trying to export lists for the purposes of media distribution I have to go back and make a new list. It's not intuitive how one should add more names to an existing list. Also, to search using location, it's not easy to search say by region, you have to search by demographic area. It's a pain to wade through all of those demo listings that seem specific to the way advertising markets are designated in strange little gerrymandered quadrants. I love the distribution tool. I know journalists would prefer it, but It would be a nightmare to have to send out personalized emails for every. single. pitch. It's just not realistic. Cision makes it easy to reach the masses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I was worried the merger would create a monopoly that would drive up my contract or force me to learn a new platform. So far that hasn't been the case at all, though I'm really not partial to the new "Cision look" replacing the old Vocus dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that there is an organized way to build a media list, and create tailored lists that can have press releases or other content distributed to all via the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike how hard it is to search for a particular media outlet in their system. You have to been extremely specific. Also, there have been multiple times that I've emailed a media contact and I get a bounceback email that the contact no longer works a that publication. They need to update their contact list more frequently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Being rather new to the software, I greatly enjoy the ease of use in terms of searching for contacts or pulling up information. It makes the learning curve intuitive and continued education of the system very streamlined and simple to pick up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Much more of an aesthetic complaint, but maybe color skins like you see on online forums? Being able to change colors to a darker background to help eye strain, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cision has very helpful search capabilities. The advanced search is great since you can use location, beat, outlet, topic, etc. to arrow down your results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cision never seems to be up to date. I'm always receiving bounce back emails from the site's contact info, and reporters are often writing for a different beat than listed on the site. Additionally, the site could be a bit more personal in terms of reporter profiles. A picture and personalized bio from everyone would go a long way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
