Polarion has very good usability. When using it, you often find your way around in a similar way to what you are already used to from Microsoft tools.
I also have many customizing options that I can use for myself Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not all of Polarion's functions are fully developed. Some urgently need updates in the standard to fulfill what is promised in the demonstrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The UI/UX is very appealing and clear. The configurations are very easy to understand and set up. The update policy (twice per year) is very good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The functionality is limited in the out-of-the-box solution. Extensions (Multilevel Traceability Widget etc.) are absolutely necessary for diligent work with the tool. The query capabilities are inadequate (e.g., not filterable by explicit link roles - only via SQL). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Polarion's customer support can have quite lengthy response times, and the proposed solutions often fail to effectively address or resolve the underlying issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Polarion can be used universally for almost all processes and process models (A-SPICE, CMMI, DO-*, GMP, GAMP, ISO9001, ...) in product, system and software development and beyond. Unfortunately, when purchasing ALM software, the focus is usually on development. If you don't have a good consultant at your side, you won't use the ALM tool to its full potential and neglect areas such as operational risk management, lessons learned, team management or customer management.
In a recent conversation, someone said to me that Polarion is like a speedboat. What he actually wanted to tell me is that Polarion can be used for the first projects within a few hours (less than 8 hours for OnPrem installation). Of course, Polarion can also be installed in the company cloud or on a server on the Internet.
Polarion is customizable to the processes in the company.
Areas of application:
# Product, system and software development with agile (SCRUM/Kanban) or classic methods
# Operational quality management as part of a framework such as ISO 9001
# Team organization
# Operational risk management / risk management for the development projects takes place directly in the project
# Lessons learned
# Standard and norms
# Customer management
Areas of application in the project:
Across the entire process world from requirements engineering and test management to problem and change management, release management, planning, task management and much more.
I would also like to say a few words about the support from Siemens regarding Polarion. From my point of view as a consultant and customer, I would sometimes wish for better support. But this is complaining at a very high level. As a consultant, I have come across many other manufacturers where the support was much worse.
We use Polarion ALm on a daily basis, both in-house and with our customers. We operate and maintain systems at the customer's premises. We advise customers on processes, methods and customizations. We are not locusts, but we can implement everything we advise in a corresponding order. The architecture here is based on a number of open quasi-standards and is very easy to maintain. Polarion ALM is definitely not a substitute for a PLM system. Of course, suitable PLM systems can be connected.
Gaps / weaknesses of Polarion are the multiple project management in the classical sense and the resource management over a large number of projects like MS Project does. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The web-based nature of the tool enables real-time collaboration across locations, which is ideal for distributed teams. Polarion is a robust tool designed for requirements management, project tracking, and collaboration, particularly in software development and engineering projects. We like it's easiness to use and broad variety of possible uses cases form requirements to test management. Moreover a lot of thir-party plugins exist which could easily be integtrated. As of now I have not seen any disadvantages. Looks like when users are having need for fixes or new features, Siemens will meet the needs and provide improvements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
