I have been using Planswift for a number of years now. Prior to purchasing this software I did quite a bit of research on the different takeoff software. I find that this product is one of the best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Building indexes is a little more complicated than it should be.

Planswfit is one of the best take-off software on the market. The main thing I like about it is there are tons of added plug-ins that are trade specific, this helps streamline the takeoff process if there is a specific style of take-off a company would normally perform. Planswift sometimes can sometimes crash or if your computer loses power it will force close the program and sometimes will corrupt the file and the take-offs will be lost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is an excellent software for quantity estimation and takeoffs . This Software has made my life so easy, and I have said goodbye to the calculator and hand calculation that was so time-consuming, and handling drawings was also not an easy task. In PlanSwift, you can scale pdf drawings easily and manage them according to your projects and calculate each and every item quantity from Excavation to finishing of the project and the best part is that it got linked with excel Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Very accurate, fast, and reliable. I have used a lot of programs and I like this by far the best. The best feature I like is the magnification or the crosshair lines to show where you are at on the page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing to say here I like all the features of Planswift. But if i had to choose I would say the slowness of converting items over to the excel documents. I have had some issues there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Planswift is generally a good program with great organization. I often pull dozens of drawings from a bidset, and it can be difficult to keep them all on track. Folders, subfolders, renaming, easy moving/deleting is all helpful. A small bonus as well--a wide range of colors to keep my takeoff easy on the eyes. Hot pink is useful to no one. The cloud integration for our business network is great too, I can easily pull up information from other estimators if I need to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It may just be my company/computer, but opening any archived jobs takes such a long time--perhaps because I have a lot of jobs stored. Also, sometimes Planswift randomly decides I don't have a license to use it and I have to reenter my company's information. Small, but annoying. It did require a bit of a learning curve, but if you're already familiar with construction software (I was), it's not too difficult to pick up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

To try and do more complex takeoffs (such as repetitive units in multi-family construction) is not very easy. Can not get multiple takeoff quantities from one takeoff measurement (ex. calculate LF of sidewalk and CY of concrete for sidewalks with only one takeoff entry).
