Working with PlanGuru feels very intuative. One of the best features is how quickly the software reacts to updates and changes and imports the data from our accoutning software.. I have yet to run into situation while building our model that a work around could not be found for something specific I needed. The support schedules are a great feature to build in detailed items such as personnel schedules etc. Overall I am very happy with PlanGuru....wish I had found it a little bit earlier. Also, the support staff is amazing, so willign to jump in and help and made theimplemenation piece go smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The excel reporting can be a little tricky becuase of how percise it needs to be for the data to import. But anyone with strong excel skills should have no problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best part about Plan Guru is the support that you get from their team. Unlike other softwares that have you speak with chat bots, Plan Guru has real people with a depth of knowledge that makes the integration of our financial data into the software a breeze. I have only skimmed the surface of the many features that the program offers and am excited to learn more. Being able to create one excel document with a plethora of easily discernable KPI's and data sets has been such a game changer for executive reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are lots of features which definitely adds to the confusion I had at times. But the Plan Guru team was able to support me everytime I was a a bit stuck. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
PlanGuru has enabled me to avoid budgeting in Excel, most importantly. Excel can work, but in my experience, it is too easy to make mistakes once you get into modeling multiple scenarios and utilize a lot of formulas. Also, PlanGuru adds a ton of reporting and the ability to budget at the beginning of the year and then have a separate forecast that I can adjust throughout the year based on recent performance. Additionally, using PlanGuru, I can dig into my budget and easily forecast on a per GL account, which I found difficult to maintain in Excel. Lastly, I can tell the tool was built with flexibility in mind, with lots of configuration available and even the ability to report directly in Excel, allowing me to continue to utilize Excel for those times when the canned reports are not enough to meet the need.
The support offered by the PanGuru team has been outstanding. I rarely receive emails from a software company volunteering to provide support. They genuinely want their users to get the most out of their product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't run into any downsides yet other than another software license to pay for. But it's well worth the money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
PlanGuru's capacity to consolidate multiple operating entities into a high-level view has been my favorite feature. Rather than having a spreadsheet pulling from numerous external data sources, I can consolidate the information in one place without having to worry about busted formulas and data links. The ability to move line items on the financial statements is clunky and time consuming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fairly easy to use after initial set up and some time spent with the implementation team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is no ability to add extra years to the project without recreating it from scratch Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
PlanGuru has moved me away from interconnected spreadsheets that were vulnerable to errors. Also, the speed at which we can produce scenrios has made my job enjoyable to the task of forcasting. PlanGuru is evolving to meet the needs of their users. I receive calls to switch to other products but no one is able to meet their value. They could charge so much more. I don't have any dislikes of PlanGuru. The product keeps evolving, the value is incredible and their service has never let me down. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PlanGuru is intuitive and effective. It is a tool that is not only tracking budgeting and forecasting but is designed to help you think about these issues. I particularly use the various methods for budgeting. The Excel-Add in moves this tool into one we will use for ongoing analysis. And last - but not least - the support is excellent! Bringing over actual data - and historical data - could use less key strokes. But the accuracy of the process is superb. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Creating a budget and keeping track of financials is easy. Before I switched to plan guru, I was using Excel. I would have to download several reports from QuickBooks and the slightest change in anything could cause the whole spreadsheet to not work. Plan Guru syncs QB so I only need to log in and press the import button to get all of the actuals I need to make future decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing at the moment! I had an issue with it running extremely slow, but it was an issue on my side. I'm still setting up my budgets so I haven't ran into anything I dislike yet, but I'm sure with time I will be able to provide useful feedback to the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The product is intuitive and easy to navigate. I like that if gives you the ability upload the COA from multiple accounting softwares. Video training is also exceptional. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The product still needs to have "project based" units on the budgeting side that can roll up to the full budget. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
