I recall being a little puzzled about how to browse the various pages when I initially used Pivotal Tracker; the user experience could be made a little more intuitively. Although it is a fantastic platform, it does feel a little old at times because tales can only be viewed as a list; I wish it had other forms of graphics, such as decks. As a Product Owner, there are several great aspects of Pivotal Tracker: the view, ease of creating tickets, & use of labels. For the view, I can set up my columns to see the state of the current sprint at a glance, as well as manage the priority in the backlog and add tickets into the icebox. I can also filter by the work assigned to each developer, which is useful during Sprint Planning. Creating tickets is very easy, you can set up different templates to capture all the necessary info for a bug or feature. The labels are also useful for seeing the state of a specific project. When we were trying Kanban, Pivotal Tracker was not the best tool to view different states of the ticket as swimlanes. We made it work by assigning specific labels and new views to sort by those labels, but Kanban is not the best method to use with this product. Instead, the tickets are color coded by state and listed vertically in the Current Iteration. The column starts to get very long for some of our teams with large sprint workloads. The best thing I like about this application is that it is user-friendly and simple user interface. Navigating throughout the program is straightforward, having a neat and structured design that allows for simple access to project details and progress. Making and handling tasks, user stories, as well as epics are simple, allowing teams to rapidly outline project scope and split it down into workable portions. Although Pivotal Tracker provides a strong set of attributes, there are some areas wherever it can be additional improved. The reporting and analytics features, although sufficient, may need more complex and easy to customize solutions. The most helpful thing about Pivotal Tracker is that its features are simple to utilize. Pivotal Tracker resembles Jira, which helps me become familiar with its components. What I dislike about Pivotal Tracker is that when visiting a project, no feature allows members to view their own stories. Relatively easy to set up if you're short on time and need to move fast with your team. If Jira is too complicated for you to set up, pivotal allows you to create stories quickly and organize them to get on with your sprint. Being into consulting business, we deal with a lot of clients and their respective teams. It is a daunting job to keep track of multiple projects with multiple clients and teams. They do have an Android app to access it from phones, but it is not as efficient as the web application. The app freezes a lot of time, and ultimately it crashes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
