What do you like best about PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud?

I like the good integration with Java based applications, since ForgeRock provides SDKs for all their products. Their private Maven repo also makes it easier to manage dependencies properly. I also like the stability of their DS servers, they are the least problematic of the bunch. The performance for their latest releases has much improved compared to their earlier releases (13.0). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud?

I dislike their debug logging since it’s scattered all over the place in different files. I am often in contact with their enterprise support and even though many times they were immediately helpful, sometimes the resolution took months. Managing an AM server is very confusing as not all operations can be done on the same channel, some only work via GUI console or REST, but not in Amster.

Configuring the Java Agents with the last version has been a big challenge as their documentation is not 100% clear.

Another challenge is that I had to refactor most of the application code because ForgeRock changed their API completely from OpenAM 13 and AM 6.5.

ForgeRock AM backup and restore solution via Amster is SLOW. In a high volume system (3k realms) the backup took several hours to get to 50%, I had to stop and find another solution (for example an ldif export in the same system takes only a matter of seconds). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud:

If you are looking to protect your Java application using an IAM and SSO then ForgeRock is a good solution. Things get more complicated with Java Agents especially if you need multiple realms. Also coding for infrastructure as code might not be straightforward because not all configuration can be done using a single channel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

Within the product I am working on, ForgeRock is used to provide authentication and authorization in a large enterprise software. SSO is also used to provide a better integration with the several components of the application sharing the same security subsystem.

A big benefit of ForgeRock AM is that it is able to handle a high volume of realms while a solution like Keycloak can't, this is one of the main reasons why the organization keeps using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud?

I have been using the product for a while and have exposure to the AM componet (Access Management). I really like this AM component and I am currently working on AM5.1. To add more, I also had used OpenAM 4years back and at that time only I came across this Forgerock product for the first time. I liked the mechanisms of the tool and the ease of using it. The way other IAM (identity and access management) tools allow to implement SSO (Single sign on) are very complex than the process used in Forgerock. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud?

I have not noticed any huge drawback in using Forgerock as of now. If I am forced to say some points on this, then I would like to comment regarding the UI customization. I hope there may be some possibilities of making the customization more straightforward and beneficial. Now the existing product doesn't allow one to do the changes in a simple manner and also I have observed some technical glitches like the modification made in some of the backend xml files doesn't help the changes be reflected in the frond end of the AM console. I guess these small bugs can be fixed in the next release or maybe it's already been considered and the fixes are provided in the latest versions (for instance, AM6 or AM6.5 or 7) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud:

I would like to highly recommend this tool those who are looking for Forgerock and already working in identity and access management field. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

Mostly it is related to authentication and authorizing the users from LDAP or some other sources. The main benefit is the ease we feel in implementing Forgerock components especially the initial deployment of the system. I liked the way the tool introduces with many inbuilt authentication module types which make the users very comfortable with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud?

The extensive list of standards supported and the myriad of connectors may be overwhelming. The training and support we received from Rogerio were instrumental in implementing the solution we had in mind for both the new Spring-based apps as well as our legacy applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud?

Navigating the settings isn't easy if you don't know exactly what you're looking for and how the different standards fit together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?

We needed SSO for our new Spring-based web apps and in a subsequent phase to connect our legacy applications to the same IM solution. We were able to do both with very little code customization of the Spring connector and no customization at all on the apache connector. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
