PHPStorm help all our team to working extensively on FormaLMS. Has a lot of unbealiveble functionalities such us advanced autocompletion and insightful code analysis that significantly enhances productivity. The IDE can be resource-intensive, which can occasionally slow down performance, but is usually resolved with a reboot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It autocompletes your code as you write. It comes with its own terminal so you do not have to open another one. Its user interface is great with great themes the user can customize to their satisfaction. For students or if you have a student email you can access the application for a year, else you can try it for thirty days. It is easy to install on any platform either Linux or windows or even mac operating systems. It has a visual debugging feature inside the IDE. With phpStorm, you are also able to code all front end languages. It supports git databases connection and other in its system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For newer languages like preCSS, it lacks support for them. It is expensive to use most when you do not have a student email hence does not offer a community version for its lovers. For systems that are a bit old, phpStorm can be really a strong program for them since it will slow down the system. Most developers would love this IDE to be used for more than one language, other than installing different IDEs for each language you come across with. Some IDEs have a preview of the output of your code, and so far I haven't seen that in phpStorm Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PHP Storm integrates database access natively, greatly helping programming in a practical way.
Creating an application using an existing database is extremely easy with the help that the tool provides.
Since I use AskCodi to code, using a widget in PHP Storm helps me even more in creating quick PHP codes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact that it is a robust and complete tool does not mean that it is a very easy tool to learn. Basic use is super easy but there are endless configuration possibilities that weren't easy for me when I started programming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

With the time working with PhpStorm it helped me to track my projects more easily. One of the best things about it is the ease to navigate through functions and wiht one of the latest versions of the program understand more easily what is what in the parameters of a function. One minor thing I would like to be integrated by default and not through different settings is to reopen a closed tab as a browser does ctrl/cmmd + Shift + T, it would be super helpful to do that when a file is closed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PhpStorm is the industry standard for PHP IDE's. The tool itself plus the available plugins turbo-charges development and makes it easier than ever to create large and complex applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside to PhpStorm is its memory footprint, but that isn't an issue on a day-to-day basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Most of our stack has migrated from PHP to a JavaScript-based codebase, so we switched to Webstorm and only need to use PhpStorm occasionally. The fair pricing model JetBrains offers with PhpStorm means, that we can still keep using our fallback license without being stuck in an infinite recurring pricing scheme. Like other JetBrains IDEs PhpStorm too can be very taxing on system resources. Starting up the application can be slow and once your machine runs out of available memory the IDE will become slow to respond. To make only small changes to a single file one might be better served using a more light-weight code editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
