It is a very configurable and easily manageable set of email marketing tools that is written in php. It provided templates for multiple email campaigns as well as functionality for autorewponses. I recommend this software for any business needing email marketing and customer list management. This is a great opensource solution that is best of all free! It lacks some functionalities of commercial software. It takes some self learning and knowledge of using opensource software is a must. It takes a little time to get the bounces configured properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

phpList is a historical software for direct email marketing based, as the name suggests, on PHP language. phpList offers its users maximum flexibility and reliability in managing promotional campaigns via email. Thanks to this tool it is possible to generate targeted messages for each type of customer, in order to improve the effectiveness of the marketing campaign.
phpList allows you to divide the subscribers of email marketing services into specific lists (as for example Mailchimp) and allows you to create and use multiple models.
phpList prevents a recipient from receiving the same message several times, even if his address is present in more than one list. In addition, it allows you to make a further submission exclusively for users who have registered after sending the newsletter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
First of all, the real phpList problem is the UI. phpList uses an old user interface typical of applications created by experienced PHP Developers but not by UX / UI Designers. No advanced infographics: data reports are not visible with bar or pie charts, or any other graphic element. There is no mobile App and currently the Web Application is not easy to manage via the browser on a smartphone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

phpList allows the user to manage their email lists in a simple way, it has useful functions, which are not very difficult to learn. When managing mailing lists, it provides the ability to perform tasks such as:
* Send messages as text or email.
* Customize the emails.
* Allow customers to not receive more mails in case they do not want it.
* Send attachments
* If a mailing fails, pick it up from where it left off. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It lacks a good report of the statistics, making it difficult to analyze the data, in addition, the interface of phpList could be more user friendly, it is somewhat outdated but it is still functional. It also has a very poor mobile platform Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

PHPList provides editors as add-ons, CKEditor being the best of the batch. PhpList includes complex statistics, such as subscribers who chose not to receive messages in the future.
It is also great because it has many payment facilities for premium plans, it can be canceled by messages or by subscribers. It is very comfortable to work with this platform and it is very easy to use quickly and intuitively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the customer service could be more intuitive but in general it is in excellent mail software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish it had predesigned templates to avoid wasting time when creating emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This is a very simply, straightforward, open source email marketing software. It is not bloated with features that users might never use. Even though the interface is not so sleek, pages are easy to navigate, with a practical aesthetic, plus it is responsive on different devices. PHPList provides editors as plugins, with CKEditor being the best of the lot. PhpList includes detailed statistics like subscribers who opted out of future messages, following which campaign, and for what reason (if one was given).
PHP list integrates seamlessly with a host of applications such as:
- WordPress
- Drupal
- Joomla
- phpBB
- Third-party data submission
- Subscriber-facing pages
- Landing pages for new subscriber signup
There is also a hosted solution (for fair price) for those who are not tech savvy or those who want to get up and running in minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- The interface can use some modern design and technology
- Additional templates ‘inside the box’ would be a huge plus, but note that one can use templates from any other application (including many published by Mailchimp on GitHub)
- Addition of data visualizations like bar graphs or pie charts would be very nice as well
- Mobile app for users on the go would be great Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
