PaperCut Overview

What is PaperCut?

Over two decades ago, PaperCut was founded on a single question: How can we put an end to piles of wasted paper sitting in printer trays? In a nutshell, our print management software inspires earth- and dollar-saving behavior by giving you powerful visibility and control over who prints what (and how much). It’s led to the wider PaperCut family saving over 750 million sheets of paper to date – that’s like 80,000 trees! It also makes your day-to-day a lot easier. After all, what really sets our solutions apart is how simple they are to install and use – no matter your size, your printers, or the devices and operating systems your users bring to the table. Thanks heaps for your review, Marin. So good to hear you're having a great experience. It's interesting you mention PaperCut MF is easy to use - I find many people set it up initially, and then hardly ever go back to the dashboard afterwards because it just works!

What do you like best about PaperCut?

The versatility of user printing. People can submit a print project from anywhere and print from any PaperCut network printers that are available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PaperCut?

Implementation process is the least helpful part because of the level of technical knowledge that is required. This is because of all the possible options PaperCut can do and how it operates. Must have someone that knows PaperCut inside and out for proper impelmentation. Downside is finding an honest, quality company with individuals with the knowledge to properly support PaperCut and all of its options. Once found, PaperCut is an awesome program for any Techology Department to utilize and support for their users. PaperCut Support availability might be better in larger, more metropolitan areas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?

Solves the tracking of where all of the printing costs come from. We are able to narrow down and get to the exact printer/building that is printing the most. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about PaperCut?

From the outset, PaperCut stands out for its ease of installation and user-friendly operation. Its seamless integration with existing systems and broad compatibility with a range of devices and operating systems make it an excellent solution for diverse IT environments.

We are a small school and sometimes the prints are out of control and can be printed but never collected. This leads to a lot of wasted prints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PaperCut?

PaperCut for me, is just fine and has no cons. I am happy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?

Users printing for no reason, prints sent and never collected, prints sent to the wrong printer so sent again to the correct one. Misuse of the machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about PaperCut?

The best thing about this software is that you have a complete control of every single paper used and spent in you company. The mobility add on makes almost every OS paltform printing, throught devices like tablets and cell phones Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PaperCut?

The price is sightly up, but in general pays itself later on. Initial configuration is not that easy, but this due to different type and brands of printers. Mobility add on is not available any more on some OS platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering PaperCut:

This software is probably the most complete solution on market. Many years of experience and evolution based of user experience and customer requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?

The problem of accidental printing, and saving paper and prorecting the environment. The benefit is saving a lot of money in paper and the control of expenses of each user. Another benefit is the limiting the usage of paper per user. You can also limit the printer which each user could use and access. Unifining in the mobility functions resolved multi OS platform issue. What do you like best about PaperCut?

The simplicity of PaperCut's interface layout makes it's daily team usage a smooth sail and it allow us to utilize all it's features. For the entire engineering team, printing of plans is an essential part of software development and IT Consulting and service provision process. It becomes easy and clear if the plan layouts for every product or project are well put together. PaperCut is the mastermind behind making printing of these plans secure, easy and cost effective. During our implementation phase we realized that we didn't need to acquire a print server instead after configuration and onboarding of Printers, Copiers, desktops and mobile devices we could deploy print jobs directly from devices. PaperCut is compatible with all our devices and onboarding process is soo effortless and intuitive so we can always print all plans from individual authenticated devices anytime any of us need them in addition to being able to create multiple accounts using Active Directory helps in sharing and collaborating on printing tasks . The centralized dashboard gives us an overview and pane to manage and control devices, servers, printers and copiers , tracking usage of toner and pages, print jobs queues enable us to track the entire print infrastructure without having to run other hardware. It has also assisted in identification of errors, breaches and resolvin any downtime in the printing workflow. The privacy and security of the print environment is guaranteed and only authorized accounts can access printing so we don't have to worry of information leak throughout the printing phase. The incredible reports and trails that shows when printing is done and what is printed makes it super simple to monitor Printing activities making it possible to cutwastage and printing expenses Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PaperCut?

We have had an amazing and productive experience with PaperCut. The returns are massive given it's reasonable pricing and we get incredible support from their tech team who are always upto task any time hence we haven't had any downside all these time Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use PaperCut for department printing management. It has streamlined and made easy to print our optic plans in a secure way. It integrates with diagramming platforms we use to prepare plans soo we print directly without having to transfer diagrams thus our outputs are more clear and accurate. Also clear tracks and audits of each usage brought about transparency and accountability in printing . A centralized control pane allow us to counter check and preview before we print soo we don't have any chances of errors and double double printing which eliminates on wastage of papers and toner beneficial from a financial and environmental aspect. ie having the entire

print workspace in our fingertips is way to manage and control it's impact. Detection and resolution of error is quick and timely with devices and entire system centralized. With all these uses PaperCut has cut our printing cost by half. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about PaperCut?

We initially introduced PaperCut in our organization in order to have "Secure Printing" and a "Follow Me" feature. In other words, to be able to safely release a print job when and where we need it. We have found that it does way more than we initially expected. For our Printer Management it allowed us to have a dashboard with an easy view of our MFD park. Toner levels, usage, notifcation, as well as Management info/reporting on WHAT is being printed (page formats, color or monochrome, number of pages) by departments and individuals.

Using the JOB SUBMISSION PORTAL we also had control on jobs to be submitted to our print/mail room for booklets, fill-in forms, manuals etc.

Being something you use daily, having it work as seemlessly as it does is a huge plus and the posibility of integrating it into Active Directory made the need of creating users individually, obsolete.

All in all more than we bargained for or expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PaperCut?

Setting it up had a bit of a learning curve. We had the basic stuf set up right away, but the list of features and options was sso extensive, we ended up learning more and more with every time we logged into the administration portal.

Thankfully local support and representatives of the product as well as the Customer Support made implementation a succes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PaperCut solving and how is that benefiting you?

As stated before, we were looking into an way of managing WHEN and WHERE jobs were printed. Having an office with 250 user and 13 MFDs in different locations, we needed to be able to know that a jobs is only released when and where we needed it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
