What do you like best about OpenText NetIQ Advanced Authentication?

The NetIQ Advanced authentication is easy to install, it comes as an appliance that we can install easily. The easy integration with the NetIQ access manager enables seamless SSO along with Advanced authentication features like SMS OTP, TOTP, Email OTP. Many pre-integrated policies will help us to easy implementation of methods that are required. Easy integration with SMS providers like Twillio and MessageBird. Easy to use and user-friendly UI. What do you dislike about OpenText NetIQ Advanced Authentication?

The major drawback when compared to other products the NetIQ advanced authentication doesn't provide social login feature. And second, the most thing the implementation of requirements using the product is very limited in scope, there are so many limitations, I felt there need to be many changes to match with other new products. Looks like the legacy product which feels we are using an outdated application for serving the purpose of Advanced authentication. For the TOTP method, the application provided by NetIQ seems very laggy and outdated. There need to be more features to be onboarded to meet the modern requirements. The user enrollment page is very generic and there must be some customizations that are required at end user level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenText NetIQ Advanced Authentication solving and how is that benefiting you?

Implementing the Multi-factor authentication, we onboarded the SSO application in the NetIQ access manager and uses NetIQ AA as the MFA provider. NetIQ Access manager provides the first level of authentication i.e.., User name and password redirect to NetIQ AA for MFA like SMS OTP, Email OTP or TOTP which users can choose as a second factor for authentication. What do you like best about OpenText NetIQ Advanced Authentication?

The tool has a lot of flexibility and integration methods. This allows you to be flexible in how your users interact with the system and can allow you to give your users the ability to have some choice in how they authenticate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenText NetIQ Advanced Authentication?

When we first implemented the Advanced Authentication system there were some things that we felt an enterprise class system should be able to do that it could not. One example was it did not have the ability to use a web proxy to access the Internet for when you need to connect to services such as Twilio to be able to send SMS or voice messages. Thankfully Micro Focus was very responsive while we were in the process of implementing the solution and they would quickly release new features that we needed to make our implementation successful. What problems is OpenText NetIQ Advanced Authentication solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are a government contractor and for access to a provider portal that we provide we were required to implement MFA for users to access the portal. Since we use NetIQ Access Manager for the reverse proxy and authentication that protects this portal, using the Advanced Authentication system for the MFA implementation was a simple process due to the integration of NAM and Advanced Authentication.
