When I used the software back in 2015, the interface wasn't very friendly, and looked slightly outdated even at the time. I'm not familiar with potential revisions they've made to the UI in recent years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Openlink provides integrated solution with interface for scheduling, trade capture, valuation, compliance and limits monitoring, positional limits and risk reporting, collateral management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Pricing model looks expensive. alongwith upgrades and consultants with subject matter expertise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I work as a business consultant and have many clients with different cases. I mostly consult finance companies, IT and influencers. Every client has something different they want so one of the most valuable things is reporting tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a bit hard to get into the tool to make most out of it. Having different clients across different segments means that it will most likely be different things each company wants to achieve, so making the learning process easier would be very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the new Renewable energy trading on Openlink Endur - it allows transitional energy companies the features to trade renewables and still keep their positions in traditional energy transactions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Website can be a bit sticky - I clicked on Oil & Gas and the page never moved (from the home page). Otherwise, the site is beautiful! As a sidenote - In 2004-5, I was contracted by an agency, Global Communication Works, to write all the OLF.com web copy, collaborating with a NY-based web writer. I wrote the entire Energy section, and he took the Financial section. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It contains all the HL7 message segments and fields for each version (v2.1 through 2.3.1). Unlike other messaging engines (Mirth, BizTalk Server) the HL7 message structure comes installed with the product and is relatively easy to install. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Built on Microsoft Access which is not very good for automated backups. Very little API documentation (written in C --visual studio 6 if I recall) . I did not use OpenLink for anything other than HL7 messaging and I am not aware of it being used for anything other than healthcare messaging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
OpenLink has one of the leading risk and trading products in the ETRM space can model just about any type of financial and physical instrument. On the physical side one of the best for natural gas trading and scheduling some of the largest banks and energy companies manage their business on Endur. Reporting is well suited to manage any type of reporting, database structure (blobs) makes it difficult to extract data for special reports but is manageable. Compared to the remaining ETRM vendors OpenLink is in the upper right quadrant. The investment is expensive on the millions but will provide value across the organization. Keys to success will be investing in a 3rd party integrator that have the experts with a deep understanding of the data model this will guarantee a successfully project. OpenLink is lacking deep functionality when it comes to crude oil, NGLs and refined products but can manage these types of commodities. The better choice from ION would be RightAngle for crude oil, NGLs and refined products. The product is in need of a GUI upgrade very outdated with a mix of different looking screens. It has a strong data model but requires a large team of technical people to support onsite but has improved in some of the latest upgrades. The product can be launched in the cloud but has it's limitations. OpenLink pMotion is the power module although it can model power deals for psychical and financial you will still need to invest in a 3rd party power vendor (Adapt2, PCI, OATI) to support your power business. Very expensive and risky for smaller companies with tight budgets and smaller IT staffs, once OpenLink is implemented you will see value across the organization. Openlink Endur - great product for commodities trading.I worked for more than 2+ years in FO, MO applications for Commodities project. one of the best application used by major commodity trading organizations globally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Application though good but quite slow. also some feature like finding add in for HP ALM was a cumbersome task while we tried to do some automation in few Endur application for our project. Overall mantenance charge/renewal charge is high. That's why even many organisations these days looking for customized and cheap solution instead of Endur. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The company do provide a good customer service. The solution given is always well informed and with utmost quality. And they really do respond within the time frame expected. In Case of clarifications, it is easy to approach them for a accurate solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There was a time when the communication with the company was difficult due to resources lacking expertise in English in specific regions. I think this has been taken care later. I can't think of any dislikes I faced apart from this. And this is a story of almost 8 years back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The creators have clearly got a lot of knowledge about the industry, they know how things work in energy trading and what is required of such a system. It is customizable to almost any need that an energy trading department needs: trade capture, risk management, specific handling of different energy products. Does not really feel like a modern, digital product. Outdated, complicated UI. Can only navigate through the required screens after a lot of experience with the product, with limited resources like help functions to aid you learn. Very much like a maze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Openlink Endur a great ETRM tool.I worked on the tool as per my project assignment. For MO and FO, it is one of best in terms of commodity, energy trading. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is quite costly software. Specially high maintenance cost makes it less affordable for smaller organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Well designed platform, customisable for clients needs.
Premiere ETRM platfrom for commodities.
reporting and batch can be customised via C scripts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The company has changed ownership manytimes. the product is no longer maintained, and expertise on system is lacking. Vendor has monopoly on system, therefore companies would need to be aware of vendor risk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
