Newforma is essentially a database that logs all aspects of an architecture project. You can email important emails so that all of your internal team can stay up to date on the project. File transfers allow for large data transfers (up to 10 GBs) with change logs to see who and when files were downloaded. Construction admin tools like RFIs, Submittals, and on-site tasks like punchlists are great features too. The search functionality id great. It scans the entire project within your network looking within office documents, PDFs, emails, and even AutoCAD files for words/keywords.

Sometimes the platform can be overwhelming for users. I say that Newforma is like an all-you-can-eat buffet. There are so many options and trying to use them all could make you "sick", but if you use the basics, it can help you and your project team succeed.
The interface can be a bit blunt, especially for architects who prefer colorful interfaces with nice icons.

Organization of information, ability to transfer large files, and ability to search files and attachments. The Bluebeam Connector, and potential for integrations with other systems offers a clear roadmap for growth, and in turn drives adoption from users who have a vested interest in learning more about the system. Info Exchange is also a great resource, in that it is free, intuitive, and secure.

Training is typically the biggest hurdle for Newforma adoption. Once you have a team on board, they are usually advocates for using the system and won't go without Newforma on future projects. However confronting taking away from billable work, as well as having staff on hand that can support answering questions, training teams, and talking to external consultants about using InfoExchange are all necessary. Newforma helps us keep our project information more orderly and more easily searched. Going through a raw file system is cumbersome and slow; maintaining and searching through Exchange Public Folders is nearly impossible. Newforma solved all of these issues with an easy to use interface and a very robust search and organization system. The best part? If you need help, it's only a phone call or email away... the community forums are a great help as well.
The ability to email large files via InfoExchange gives great options for sending information to contractors, vendors, or clients. Leveraging shared folders in InfoExchange gives an almost dropbox or BIM360 type of collaboration experience. And it just keeps getting better. Newforma is constantly on the move adding new features, re-writing pieces that don't work as well as they could, and continually optimizing the applications.

Pricing is a tad high, but not unreasonable for what it provides. The performance of the current client is a BIT of a frustration for my users but at the same time, it's better than what we had before and it's constantly getting better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to link emails and search on the email content helps me the most. Teammates from my company can each file emails that can be shared with the team or partitioned for confidentiality. These emails are archived with the project for future reference. Filing an email is easy and it can be related to a specific action. I cannot move an item from one project to another without recreating the item. Many of my clients have multiple projects with our company - if they send something in on the wrong project, it is hard to move it to the correct one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Newforma indexes all of our project data no matter where its located. It provides email management for all of our projects by making it easy to file project emails for future reference. It provides secure and fully-trackeable project inofmration file transfers. It does not require you to change the location of your project data. We utilize the Construction Management portion of the product to handle all of our RFI's, Submittals, and Document Manangement for our construction projects. NPC is a central platform for our firm, it is helpful that whether you're on the team or not, you're able to get into a project and research what you need. One of the popular features is the "Search Project Contents". The meta-data columns are also helpful to help filter the information in logs to exactly what a PM or any team member may be looking for. I wish that users could not create multiple contacts for one external person's email address! We have had a lot of users add external people to their project teams by creating new contacts instead of searching for them in the contact directory first. I train them not to do that but it still happens anyway and it has caused a lot of headaches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
