"Netbeans, a good Java IDE, but for others, poor"
I like two things mainly, the way you can create GUIs, and the way it works for Java, is my main IDE when I'm working with Java.

What do you like best about NetBeans?

I like the fact that out of the box it would support most of the languages I needed. I remember only needing one or two plugins to get a PHP/MySQL/Angular web app up and running. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetBeans?

Not much. It worked fine and I the price was in my range. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've used Eclipse and IntelliJ as well at other jobs, IntelliJ is nice, but the price has increased and it's moved to a subscription based model. I did not hate Eclipse, but I was not impressed either. This was a few years ago though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

No need for separate IDE's. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use Netbeans both for my Windows and Linux machines, I have been using Netbeans about four years ago and have tried similar PHP IDE's but I always end up with Netbeans. One thing is am very familiar and also an IDE that is very flexible with advance features. Netbeans is very configurable, from themes, font sizes, code collapsing, code hinter, code explorer, many features that I love and it works best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetBeans?

One issue I got with Netbeans is that it consumes memory, well the benefits outweighs the disadvantages> You need a memory of 4Gigabytes or more to get a functional development environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering NetBeans:

What do you like best about NetBeans?

NetBeans came to me highly recommended. My peers were using it, my mentor was using it. It was overhyped so I decided that I would try it out one day in my Data Structures class while my best friend sat besides me coding in this IDE. I have an IDE that I love and use and is lightweight but I went ahead. I downloaded it. Glad it was free. Thank you so much and opened it up. If you have an eye and appreciation for art and all things beautiful visually, this is not for you. However, as I said. it is good for the clean minimalistic mindset. Easy to navigate. Easy to use. Something I can see certain types of people will fall in love with. But me, aesthetically, this was not for me. Classes, wow, easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetBeans?

The aesthetic fell short of my expectations. I expected much much more. I expected it to be visually appealing but it was not, unfortunately. It was clean, very clean in the way an IDE should be. In fact, it should be an IDE that beginners and amateurs and professionals will feel comfortable with but for me, I need something that is visually stimulating as well and this was not the right IDE for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering NetBeans:

Be open to it. It might not be fancy fancy like some other IDEs (I personally love Visual Studio) Please do take some tips from them and learn from one another to improve. Visual Studio is also not perfect but as the title says, extremely visually pleasing. This works perfectly and is easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is NetBeans solving and how is that benefiting you?

None. Very supporting group of vendors. Responds fast. The community that loves NetBeans is huge and therefore you can get all the help in which you need from just the people around you who use it. it is especially popular at my school Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetBeans?

As any IDE you have to get used to it and there's small learning curve to be able to make full use of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering NetBeans:

As with any IDE there is a learning curve to make full use of it, but with netbeans it is very small. Take your time to learn about its different features and you will see how powerful it can be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is NetBeans solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have used netbeans for the development of web applications. One of the benefits of netbeans is that it rarely slowdowns, and its menus are very straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
