The analysis has been reallly insightful in getting all our data collated in one space. We can now quickly and easily compare metrics that in the past took a lot of time to create. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We still find Excel much easier to manipulate in terms of forecasting. Resource planning seems quite restrictive in terms of business specific inputs that we want to create Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Real=time updates make dashboarding and reporting quite simple. Once the reports are set up, it's pretty easy to adjust time periods to create new versions.
The modeling and forecasting is similarly pretty straightforward, and robust enough for most use cases. For example, it's pretty simple to work from an existing expense line item and forecast it forward using any number of formulaic approaches (flat, grow by x%, grow based on some other metric like headcount, etc.). It does have a lot of capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is definitely a learning curve with regards to creating formulas and linking the elements of a financial model. The syntax of the formulas is different from Excel/GSheet, but the support site has lots of examples so one can get pretty far on their own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Mosaic has a very clean interface that allows for great connectivity to SFDC, Netsuite and Maxio creating a command center and source of truth for the entire organization. The Canvas workspace allows for quick and easy adhoc analysis and allows the functional leaders to get near real-time info that helps everyone row in the same direction based on the same set of data. Getting connected to Netsuite, SFDC and Maxio was very quick which allowed for validation of actual reporting info. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing really. We just went live with the solution and are in the middle of our FY25 Budget preparation, so still learning about all of the capabilities. The formula syntax is very much like excel, so it has been fairly easy to make the transition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Mosaic is user friendly and does not take a ton of training to get up and running with it. It serves all the standard FP&A functional needs with many out of the box metrics and dashboards that are awesome, especially for a SaaS company. Mosaic is built with SaaS companies in mind and that was a huge reason why we ended up choosing them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Mosaic is still a fairly early stage company so there are some features and integrations that are lacking but nothing that was a deal breaker. I will say that the team is open to hearing their customers requests and acting upon the product roadmap as planned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This tool allows quick setup and fast ROI (reporting and businss insights) and it's really important for small teams that do not have significant resourced dedicated for FP&A. Additionally, the ability to integrate multiple solutions and Quickbooks, allows me to perform consolidation with multple entities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Updating forecasts using standard quick keys do not always work; however they are getting better. The flexibility with graphical views are also limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best is the real-time updates that happen when I make any changes. The product is easy to use and everyone on my team gets up to speed quickly. Features are being added often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What Mosaic could improve is continuing to make the UI approachable for all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The integration with Quickbooks online and other systems is great. Having one source of truth makes modeling so easy and efficient. Once you get the hang of the system, it's easy to add new scenarios. I like having a set analysis canvas for financial reporting that is set and ready to go each month. The team has has been super supportive of our implementation and very easy to reach. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Mosaic can be a little tricky to navigate when you want to publish models to use for analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that when I build a new model in Mosaic. I have the ability to drill down to the account category. The customer support team is also very helpful. They always answer my questions. The integration is also helpful as well; thanks to the customer support from Mosaic Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Knowledge Base from Mosaic is not intuitive as other platforms. I had to read through it multiple times in order to create something that I want Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Mosaic has been an awesome tool in streamlining our finance month-end and reporting functions. The automation of reporting and the integrations available with our existing systems have reduced the time and effort spent on manual processes, particularly with managing multiple entities that require consolidation. I love the ability to view key metrics quickly and in real-time, with instant access to up-to-date data, we're able to respond quickly and with confidence. The Mosaic team are knowledgeable, responsive and helpful, ensuring we get the most out of the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's an initial learning curve which requires time to master all the advanced features and customisation options available on the platform. Having said this, the support function and knowledge base tutorials are helfpul and easy to understand. There's some improvements to be made in terms of adding functionality that finance teams are used to when building out forecasts which I hope to see padded out in time! We use Mosaic primarily for the following things (which it does quite well for us):
- Vendor level breakdowns
- Budget management
- Department financials (without needing to those folks ERP access).
- Department BvA reporting
The ability to utilize Mosaic in lieu of a dedicated FP&A analyst gives our small Strategic Finance team quite a bit of leverage. It is also simple to get onboarded onto and use.
While there have been some product bugs, their support team is very responsive and has been able to rectify most bugs flagged.
Lastly, I've enjoyed the overall partnership attitude that Mosaic approaches their customers with. I've been asked for product feedback many times + I appreciate how our CSM genuinely is empathetic to our use case, even if it's not necessarily the exact product use-case vision on their roadmap. Mosaic is still a relatively newer tool in the FP&A software landscape so there is room for product improvements.
Budget loads from external sources + exports are still very rudimentary + collaboration is tricky to provision.
We also not use Mosaic reporting in anything other than internal company reporting, as there is minimal customization (but it works completely fine for our BvA process). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Mosaic has a very simple interface that is easy to understand. There are multiple systems integrations that seamlessly pull in data. Once you learn how to use the platform, navigation is intuitive . I am a primary user and use Mosaic on a weekly basis. Their support is very responsive and for quick questions, the chatbot is actually useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Mosaic is constantly improving on their product. I have used their software for several years and there have been some big improvements. A few things I dislike about the software are:
1. Have to unpublish models before editing them, making it difficult to edit a model and look at the canvas at the same time.
2. Unable to edit data coming in from data sources. I understand that it is important to keep consistency but there are instances where I want to change what department an employee is in for modeling purposes that is different than the department the employee is in in our HRIS system.
