I appreciate the 4.1 version's easy-to-use interface and abundance of customization tools and options, which, when combined with the reporting tools, offer teachers a great deal of control and flexibility in terms of designing their courses and overseeing their content. Also, its scalability for large organizations when working with a Moodle workspace is quite powerful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lots of customization options and tools also imply a steep learning curve for managers. Not too simple self-setup and integrations might require some external services to support your team if the approach gets a little complicated. In any case, there are some very interesting, not too expensive, options to explore. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Moodle has a nice range of functions, which are very useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only "dislike" I have concerning Moodle is that I believe its console could benefit from a more faciliatory outlay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I find Moodle's feature of creating and managing online courses while keeping track of student progress to be incredibly convenient and efficient. The ability to offer students the option to take online coursework is especially beneficial, as it allows for flexibility in scheduling and location while still providing a structured learning environment. Additionally, as an instructor, being able to easily monitor student progress and provide feedback in real-time allows for more personalized and effective teaching. Overall, Moodle's online course management system greatly enhances the learning experience for both students and educators alike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Learning how to use Moodle can be a daunting task due to its vast range of features, making it complex and time-consuming to figure out. Although Moodle is an expansive platform with many capabilities, the process of getting started is not streamlined. Our team spent several months trying to navigate the platform, but fortunately, our Moodle Representatives were patient and kind throughout the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's easy to adopt, set up, integrate, and customise to training needs and provides a dashboard and reporting system that meets my organisations needs. It also has a mobile app making it more accessible even in remote or "on the go" situations. The customer support is also very helpful. I mostly use/engage on the platform for about 4 to 6 months annually due to the nature of the project I am working on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
None that I can think of at the moment as it is meeting my organisations needs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Everything, because is equipped with all the tools I need to provide online instruction in my Microsoft 365 online courses.
With Moodle, I was able to develop and implement an online training methodology that has proven since the beginning to be succesful, because the Moodle infrastructure allow me to do it.
I always check the students results, update content courses, update didactics, and the overall results are excepcional:student retention: ~100%, students satisfaction: ~98% and improving. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have been using Moodle for years and have had a positive experience. It is easy to use, there are constant updates with amazing new features and plugins added.
I can customize the look and feel which makes the user experience seamless.
It's an open-source platform, with zero costs - amazing!
I can reach learners in over 15 countries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing that I dislike, I have been using it for years and I am very happy with the functionality that it offers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is flexible, configurable, and customizable to your institution's requirements. If you want to integrate it with other systems, it is seamless with their web services APIs. It also comes with a user-friendly mobile application that supports offline content viewing. As an administrator, one thing I like most is that it is widely used and a well-supported system from both the community and its customer desk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not exactly a downside but you will still need to invest some dollars to get the best theme or plugins Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If you can imagine it, you can probably do it in Moodle! The availability of thousands of plugins means you can adapt your instance of Moodle to just about any need, and the cost of Moodle (free to self-host) means you can spend money on some of the paid plugins. Moodle supports experiential learning models, repetitive practice models, competency-based assessment, points-based grading, learner-centered adaptive teaching, and more. Assessment mechansims include reflective journals, quizzes with dozens of closed- and open-ended question types, discussion forums, shared-knowledge activities (wikis, databases, and glossaries), and multiple, easy-to-integrate plugins from courseware providers and other third parties. Permissions are adaptable at all levels, including highly granular cases. In the U.S., the primary Moodle host (MoodleUS) provides prompt customer support, and works with clients at all levels (from academic adminsitration to engineers). The flexibillity can make standardization hard to achieve, which can be confusing to some learners. Even if your instance is vendor-hosted, you will want at least 1/2 FTE allocated to administer Moodle at your institution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Moodle is truly a robust LMS. Compared to Brightspace, Bb Learn, and Canvas, it can stand up on it's own and do most anything any other LMS can do (and often more). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Moodle can be very UNfriendly to users with extra clicks and lots of scrolling. Changes to the platform sometimes improve issues, and sometimes make it worse (such as the new Moodle 4+ activity icons). Moodle is not always administrator-friendly either. Third-part plugins and LTI/API integrations can be a HUGE headache, and any sort of customization to a theme can take hundreds of hours to do (really, very programmer forward on that).
