It allowed my to reach out to professor, fellow students, and complete school work in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In my experience it wasn’t the easiest to find everything for inexperienced users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how you can organize things in a class and then have the option to roll the class over to another course. That way you do not have to keep doing the same things over and over and uploading the same material multiple times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not like that when you roll classes over, you can select only certain things to roll over. It is either all or nothing. It would be nice to be able to just say "hey I want to roll my grade book over but not the content" and that is not possible, unfortunately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Moodle is a GPL-licensed software, therefore it is free and also free of charge.
It facilitates your work as a teacher in your academy, institute, or school in the following ways:
- It allows you to create courses and securely enroll students using a key.
- Organize your class material as a teacher: that is, add and organize files of different extensions by topics for notes, presentations, work statements, and add links that are useful to the students. If a student cannot attend class, they can follow the material taught here.
- It allows you to create assignments, with a start date and a deadline for students to submit their practices or work from their user accounts. This way, you won't have to constantly remind them of the final submission day.
- They can be evaluated and see their grades.
- It allows constant connection with them, both public and private. They can ask questions and we as teachers can respond or they can help each other.
- It allows online exams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I don't like is the interface, somewhat outdated.
Managing a Moodle site is not easy, it requires a long implementation period, with a prior study phase, because the interface is intuitive, but not as much as I would like.
If you are not an administrator, and you simply have to organize your course material, it is much easier to manage, but it also takes time until you adapt to the program's controls.
- If you lose connection one day in the classroom, you're "stuck" and will have to find some resource to avoid losing the class that day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
First and foremorel, Moodle is free! What is not to like about that. But when it comes to functionality, Moodle is great. I can customize my courses easily, using Moodle for assignment submission which allows for quick grading turn around. The Moodle grade book is customized and very powerful. And the messaging and forum setups are great to facilitate the sharing of classroom information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The learning curve is a bit steep initially. The UI isn't quite as intuitive as I would like, but overall the benefits have outweighed the cons in this area. Setting up the various grade book styles can be very time consuming until you have mastered the process. I think the word I would use to describe Moodle is "clunky." I like that Moodle does have the ability to build out an entire school of necessary. There really isn’t many limitations being the open source factors. Customizations and needs can be met. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You will need a professional team to setup and integrate Moodle. Customizations will need a developer. You will also need to purchase plugins or upgrades for added features. This is the world of using an open source platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
