What do you like best about Moodle?

I enjoy adapting Moodle to a variety of learning applications and thinking about architecture and functionality. I love it's also Online, open source, and worldwide. It basically provides a portal for instructor loading, which helps us to sign up and attend conferences if we already have a registered account. So speaking in particular can also help to communicate with friends so lectures. We can do it through Moodle, so it is very simple to use if we will submit assignments, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Moodle?

At some point, we can't do it through a moodle if we have to load tasks with large data files, as this is not ready. It doesn't operate any file type extension. This can lead individual / institutional users to use business hosting providers or host the facility on a private server themselves. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Moodle:

You can handle the students enrolled subjects very quickly.

Setting up is very easy and I get to know the features included in Moodle more and more every time I do so. It has a wide archive of documents and a group network. Moodle open source platform is the best thing about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are facing many challenges, like document lacking, a large amount of paper and course material sending problems, after we started Moodle, all problems have been resolved. Now we are able to work with them on time. We 're working with all our educational projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As an education base company before use Moodle we deliver to all course materials and assignments by hard copy, as a result of that we have to allocate big number of cost to document printing. After stating Moodle we can save that total amount to the company. And also now we have a strong communication system with our students. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Moodle?

As an open-source platform, Moodle does provide a relatively robust community of contributors to help you make the platform look and feel exactly how you'd like for your educational context. As an online learning platform, it does boast a relatively strong feature set that you can leverage to do some relatively advanced things such as learning paths. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Moodle?

The open-sourced nature does come at a stability cost, and at times new features would overlap too heavily with old ones, in such a way that there were multiple 'discussion forums' to select from that confused our faculty. Integration with third party apps not as strong as it's competition in Blackboard and Canvas. Also, the lack of collapsible modules led to what students called the "scroll of death" in semester length courses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Moodle:

If you are comfortable with internally supporting customization and trouble shooting (as well as hosting the server), then Moodle can work well. Otherwise, it can be overly complicated when there are other good options that work out of the box. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?

We used Moodle for fully online, blended, and face to face (supplemented) college courses. It worked well for a time as the first lms our college used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Moodle?

I love the customizability of Moodle for a variety of educational applications and the thought that has gone into the design and features. I also love that it is FREE, open-source and has a worldwide reach. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Moodle?

I dislike that MoodleCloud, which has a free site hosting offer, does not allow you to use validated plug-ins. It may be that this forces individual/institutional users to go to commercial hosting providers or host the installation themselves on a private server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Moodle:

In addition to using Moodle at my post-secondary institution, I have independently created Moodle courses on a home installation. Set-up is a snap, and every time that I do, I learn more and more about the features included in Moodle. They have a great support community and documents database. Best of all, Moodle is open-source software, and FREE! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Moodle for educational purposes as an adjunct professor and I have started a business that works with organizations to assist them with setting up and create virtual environments such as a virtual conference. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you're a novice, Moodle has a long learning curve. But obtaining it and integrating it into your educational lifestyle is quite easy. All in all, it takes just a little bit of time and it is amazing after that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Moodle?

It is very positive that it is possible to activate a chat for everyone, so that students can communicate with teachers and other students in a safe environment. In addition, each classroom and course can be customized by the administrator. For example, one teacher may choose to offer a content-sharing space that can be edited by students, while another prefers to create a private forum to stimulate online discussions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Moodle?

In this case it is important to remember that free software is not synonymous with zero cost. There are costs associated with the services of an IT team, essential for the configuration of the platform, time to make the necessary changes and financial investment in infrastructure.

In addition, it is necessary to assemble or outsource IT equipment and a basic hardware and software infrastructure to meet your needs. Programmers who are part of the system configuration need knowledge of PHP and MySQL. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?

As teachers we have been able to create and manage virtual classrooms, in which students can access videos, documents and exams. It can also be used without the activation of online classes. Some teachers can use it simply as a learning support, while others can use it as the main interface to take exams and evaluations. Therefore, it has been a very valuable resource for us.
