All essential features are here, but do not expect anything modern. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was a great option 5-6 years ago but unfortunately team is not adding new features.
I am not talking AI - that is certainly not expected, but:
- Incomplete API, not updated for many years
- Very dated user interface circa 2005
- Complicated not intuitve navigation
- Poorly performing search (if you search for Jon, it will not find anyone who is John etc)
- No candidates database aka Talent pool - the most important thing for modern recruiting teams
- No modern features: CVs matching, meeting scheduling, candiadtes ranking, skills-based search etc
- No support for communications with candidates except for email
- Complicated views, no Kanban board view for ative candiadtes in pipeline
On top of that they are employing questionable business practices, for example they added term saying that contract will auto-renew for another year and we cannot cancel it - in small print. That make it not very suitable for any small business, unless you want to employ a lawyer to read all TOS for all online apps your team may be using. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like it about the hiring feedback can be subjected and seprate based on the profile.
Also there is a wide view of good bad or neutral sign which gives high level sight to the interviewer Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the list of candidates by default does not show in the order i have been passed feedback.
Or atleast i might not be able to filter it because of the restriction but if this could be there it was lot more easier Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the ease of creating and editing modules. Being able to replace one slide instead of having to create a new module every time there was an update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The system has become really glichy. Trainees will sometimes click the next button to go to the next slide and they will be taken backwards several slides. Also sometimes trainees will get caught in a "loop" where the module shows its 100% complete but it won't let them advance and displays "in progress" instead of "complete." Its a known issue that has been going on for over a year without resolve. I had this problem last year in annual training and its still going on this year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like how organized I can stay with my interviewing process. Whenever I have a position open up I have over a hundred applicants sometimes. Trakstar gives me the ability to be in contact with all of them in some form. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm not sure if this is a company thing or a Trakstar issue. When I finally decide on a candidate and take them to the make an offer step it does not contact anyone that is involved in my corporation in the hiring process so I have to send separate communication. That's it though nothing crazy! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They've gone above and beyond to try and help us, even implementing a feature we requested! The classes we have on Trakstar Learn generate continuing education credit, so we're grateful that the system is robust enough to handle the types of content and reporting we need. Uploading courses is easy and straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Trakstar Learn is a user interface nightmare: it is so difficult for our users to navigate and troubleshoot, and we have to guide them through even basic functions such as retaking a quiz.
There are bugs, and the error messages are misleading and vague. For example, if a user hasn't completed a course all the way through, and the course glitches, they get a message that says "You have completed this course 100%!" We then have to explain over the phone that no, it is not complete, you'll have to find the part of the course that isn't done.
Since we provide classes for mostly outside learners, archiving users and reinstating them is a gigantic pain. Our users take classes once every three years or so, so they need to be archived regularly, and reinstated on demand. Trakstar Learn really can't handle this well. I am able to easily track and see which trainees are signed up for what courses and their progress on each. I also like being able to navigate which modules and courses are connected to each other. The ability to add, edit, and see trainee information from the Trainer Dashboard is also really nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not like how easy it is to go in circles when navigating between modules and courses together. You have to click them in a specifc order and sometimes it can send you into a loop. I wish it was easier to be able to download and view the content slides for each module. If I wanted to view the content, I also only see a limited amount of slides instead of the whole presentation; to see the whole thing I need to download, however my network does not let me view .zip files, so it's annoying at times. Training courses are easy to set up and function smoothly. There are good options for designing courses to suit my needs. Reports can be created from within courses or at the reporting tab. It is an outstanding program aside from the glitches and issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We used this for staff training for two years with no issues. Then Mindflash was acquired by another company and started making "upgrades". This has resulted in glitches--which would be expected, but the problem is that it takes forever to get them resolved. For months, I've been told that the issues are on a list for the tech team to look at. In the meantime, I have to find a workaround to get what I need. Fortunately, it seems to work correctly on the trainee side, so it's just the admin side that has issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Trackstar has been a wonderful tool to add to the hiring process. What I find most useful is the tak management that is possible across several stages of interviews , each with their own panelists. I appreciate that tasks for each panelist are clearly laid out and that all interviewees materials are easy to access within the platform for me to access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I appreciate the features of trackstar hire but do feel like there is a learning curve to understanding how everythign is going. I did not receive any training on the platform, and am not sure if there was an intro when I first logged in, but I feel like adapting to using a new platform is the most challenging aspect across larger teams with varying technology experience. Not sure if the HR would upload candidates from all sources into Trakstar but the fact that I could see all profiles whether through Linkedin, Direct mails or other Job portals - at one place in one format was a plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not many filtration critirias using which I can filter who are, say qualified Chartered Accountants in the thousands of profiles received, who has 2-3 years of experience, who is eqipped in using SQL and Power BI. Such filtration is the only way to shortlist in the thousands of profiles one receives.
Also, the overall UI looks functional but poorly designed - getting confused on where to read the reviews of one interviewer in his / her round - took 10 minutes to find that.
Usability on phone was a challenge, wasn't able to login Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
