- Duplication of campaigns/ads/forms/etc

- Process for creating new campaigns is quick and seamless

- Ability to test multiple iterations/experiments is great and saves a lot of time

- Automated rules for optimizing campaigns/experiments, auto-pausing, etc is great

- Audience building leaves much to be desired. No ability to use boolean logic is a big obstacle - but there is a new feature update for this about to come out which will be a game changer

Being able to quickly produce many iterations of ads/audiences/experiments etc is very helpful - Metadata will automatically create all the combinations instead of you having to manually create each one. For a more niche target market like mine, some audience types I wanted to use did not work well - either they didn't allow for narrow enough targeting (in some cases could only target by industry), or audiences came out too small. What do you dislike about Metadata.io?

Honestly, don't know if it's a Metadata issue or FB issue, but FB has dropped off the map in terms of ROAS for my company. I've shifted spend elsewhere so Metadata is just not a solution any more for my B2B company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Metadata.io?

Metadata is a great tool for ABM and paid social. You can reach incredibly specific audiences and run easy tests and experiments. The support from their team is amazing, from our Customer Success Rep, a performance strategist, and access to their technical support team. When we do have technical issues, they are able to submit tickets and escalate our issues quickly and resolve any problems. We've had great success with Metadata so far! What do you dislike about Metadata.io?

The only issue we have seen so far is that you cannot make edits to anything that is live. If you want to update an audience, form, ad, or full campaign, you will need to duplicate and create a new one. What do you dislike about Metadata.io?

Campaign naming parameters are not customizable after launching into LinkedIn or Facebook

Every ad that is launched is separated at the campaign level in Facebook and LinkedIn which can cause budget issues sometimes

When using Optimizer, it sometimes doesn't spend the full budget due to performance even if we're willing to spend a bit more

Retargeting audience builds needs to be separated out individually to its own buckets whereas we're able to group them together in the campaign level of LinkedIn and Facebook Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Metadata.io solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about Metadata.io?

Metadata.io is great at enriching data for purposes of targeting and also once you've captured a lead via a paid social or paid search channel. We also love how simple it makes the bidding process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Metadata.io?

While the UI is overall very intuitive and easy-to-use, I still find it a challenge to take care of certain tasks without asking our CSM for help. But the CSM is very helpful and I am learning more of the ins and outs! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We had been running LinkedIn ads and Google search ads and using the native advertising platforms to manage them. Our targeting efforts have been a challenge. We also have not been getting many company email addresses. Metadata.io lets us target much better with its enrichment data and functionality, as well as enriches the data of our leads to make many more business email addresses turn up. What do you like best about Metadata.io?

It's easy to talk about the automated testing and 1-to-1 job title matches (MetaMatch allows you to target people on social media by their exact title, even on Facebook, which is a gold mine for B2B in this regard). Still, the actual value of Metadata is in your onboarding and account management team.

You're paired with an account manager, a technical onboarding specialist, and a performance marketer as a Metadata customer.

If you're like me, you've experienced burnout with vendor calls that provide no value and every time you join; it's an upsell sales call.

No at Metadata. Nope.

Each call with your account manager and performance market results in actionable and strategic takeaways.

The recommendations aren't cookie-cutter, either. They're tailored to your unique marketing strategy. If you need to, reread this last sentence because this is the difference between actualizing value and just spending for the sake of spending.

The performance marketer understands your unique needs and how to structure your campaigns to get your desired results. Your account manager understands the strategy you're after and works closely with the performance marketer. The platform automates 90% of the manual work required to set up new tests and campaigns.

Ultimately this means if you're looking to onboard a performance marketer this year and are currently managing all of your campaigns in native channels, you can realistically offset this hire for a year or so.

In my experience, the delta between onboarding Metadata and hiring an in-house performance marketer is considerable. Not to say that there's no place for an in-house performance marketer, but by onboarding Metadata before hiring them, you give them a solid foundation to start from. What do you dislike about Metadata.io?

It's not a dislike, but before you set up your budget groups and first campaigns, I recommend reading their playbooks. If you're familiar with native ad platforms like LinkedIn, it's not a 1-to-1 translation in Metadata due to the way they structure the campaigns. Honestly, that's a superpower more than anything. We had reached a point of diminishing returns using native ad platforms. It helped validate our new positioning and build our top-of-funnel audience, but as we ramp up pipeline generation now that we have a firm baseline, we needed some lift to make the most of our budget. This platform shaves hours off of the work I need to do for paid social campaigns. Aside from the robust functionality, the service team is superb -- I've worked with a lot of MarTech providers before and the team at Metadata.io is incredible. I can say a lot of what has made this platform so imperative to our paid efforts has been the support, guidance, and hands-on approach this team has taken with our account when we really needed it. If you've never used a platform like this, the approach to the experiments might be a little tricky to grasp at first. Testing various audiences, creatives, and offerings; optimizing paid social spend; cutting time and hands-on work that would be required to do this natively in the platform; service team provides excellent input on strategy, campaigns, measuring, optimizing, etc. -- we really think of them as consultants to a degree with their expertise. The team here and the solution is almost looked at like an extension of our Demand Gen team even though Metadata.io is a software company, not an agency or consulting firm.
