Since I purchased Mcafee antivirus protection, my desktop, laptop and mobile phone is secured. Prior to purchasing the software, my entire eBook that took me more than 4 weeks to complete got deleted in less than 24 hours. Mcafee will prompt me to scan my USB, PC and all other devices. Mcafee also warns anytime I tried to access an unsafe site.

For me, I prefer Mcafee antivirus protection to other antivirus protections out there.

The only issue for me is that Mcafee always prompts me to scan my USB, while it is good, it however, takes a longer time and I have to wait for it to complete before I can open the USB.

This software is the most used malware detection/blocking software by many prominent organizations. It is one of the default software shipped on our company laptops. This software helps scan and protect any potential threats, viruses and malware from impacting the system. It does the expected job very effectively and allows the IT admin guys to create security groups and also to block specific IPS and gateways as needed by the company regulation policies. Although this software is very flexible in providing the ability to configure different IPS, create groups and whitelist gateways, the scheduled scans consume lots of system resources and especially it scans the network traffic, adding latency and causing extreme slowness to the system. Unfortunately, since these scans are scheduled by the IT admin, as an employee/individual, we have no control over postponing or choosing a better suiting time to do the scan with less impact on the business flow. Whenever i try to visit any website that is malicious or infected, this software gives me a clear notification thus protecting my workstation from being infected.

Although it's a good product but it's heavy system usage is one of the major drawbacks. It's resource hungry and sometimes consumes so much system resources that it create delay in processing other system informations. It is difficult to say that I dislike anything about the service so far. McAfee offers services and applications that provide the security I seek.
