MAX-PAC Overview

What is MAX-PAC?

MAX-PAC is specialized CAM software for turbomachinery production. Easy and fast to learn with an intuitive user interface, MAX-PAC creates smooth 5-axis toolpaths for high-speed milling and collision free toolpaths for difficult geometries. MAX-PAC uses flank- and point-milling approaches for superior surface finish and tight tolerances, producing high quality parts that don't require hand finishing or other reworking. The interface guides the programmer to enter machining operations and specify parameters for each operation, and inputs are stored and can be used for similar applications. MAX-PAC can be applied to a wide range of components including centrifugal and axial bladed parts, and integrally shrouded impellers. Strategies are available for roughing, hub finish, blade finish, leading edge, variable fillet, tip chamfer, deburring, and shrouded pocket milling. MAX-PAC can specify cutter shapes including cylindrical and conical ball end mills, barrel cutters, and burr (lollipop) cutters. The tools are defined with graphical 2D and 3D display and a master tool library can be created to easily import existing tool definitions to a new case. MAX-PAC includes a collision detection and avoidance module, automatically calculated cutter orientations, and machine simulation for a realistic look at the whole machining process. Standard output from MAX-PAC contains APT GOTO commands compatible with commercially available post-processors. Direct postprocessors can be developed on request and include custom commands for each user.

Concepts NREC’s MAX-PAC family of CAM software provides optimal cutter-path solutions for turbomachinery components by offering users several cutting strategies that can reduce engineering costs as well as production costs. MAX-PAC is available in any combination of modules to suit part geometry requirements for flank milling of ruled-surface blading, point milling of arbitrary-surface blading, point milling of integrally shrouded impellers, or milling of single blades.

What do you like best about MAX-PAC?

MAX-PAC is so easy to learn. Looks easy and if you similar with CAM programs you'll learn so quickly. It provides optimized and easily adjustable 5 Axis Toolpath. It will answer all of your needs for milling. ( As much as we used. ) If you couldn't find the solution, ask help from them. Their service is also perfect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We can assume that they focused on milling. Everything is perfect about milling but they need to improve other parts. You can't find tutorials online. You need to ask who uses this program or their service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MAX-PAC:

You can't find a "all-in-one" solution but if you're working mostly with milling, you are in right place. ( We didn't use different parts, at least the workers of company didn't tell good things for other stuff. In my review I focused on milling. ) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We visited a company with my teacher and few students. They were using MAX-PAC and they showed us many things about milling in 2 days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
