Plugins have an inconsistent feel to them, from an administrative perspective. We have had issues with the geolocation database plugin working in one location but not another. Managing the setup of a the (pretty cool) funnels plugin was utterly different than other plugins. Not a huge deal but it is hard to automate and requires a variable cognitive load for some plugins.
