What we love most about MarketMuse is the optimization feature; you can quickly run your content through this tool and see what topics you are missing. This has been extremely helpful and has elevated our content to a new level! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is no option to delete reports from plans and tags. You have to contact customer support if you want to delete it, which can impact organization and content planning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think my favorite feature in MarketMuse is the Content briefs. It is so helpful for me to be able to build an outline for myself or my writers.
Optimize is another one of my favorite features. We have a lot of content on our website so being able to go back and optimize those posts is super helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wouldn't really classify this as a dislike, but I will say, it has taken some getting used to that this tool doesn't just encourage you to try ranking for keywords with the highest volume - it's much more about intent, unlike basically every other SEO tool (they need to catch up).
Instead of just helping you rank for the easiest keyword with the highest volume, it encourages you to use topics (broader than just a keyword) that will bring users to your website with better intent (resulting in better conversions on your site).
It's slightly harder to measure that for us at this stage, (compared to how easy it is to just measure if you organic traffic is going up) but I actually think we have seen some really positive results! Excited to see results continue to grow!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Optimize app is the one I use most in MM. It has helped my content compete with other sites on any given SERP. It's pretty easy to figure out how to use Optimize and it's kind of gamified where search terms change colors when you've hit the target in your content. It also tells you if you've used a term too many times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The content brief function attempts to use AI to write an article for you. Either I didn't set it up right after working on it for half a day, or it's just not ready for prime time. The end product was unintelligible gibberish. I also don't love the text editor as some of the formattings don't transfer well so I end up going back and forth between Google Docs and MM to make changes--it's a pain and I make mistakes. Marketmuse is a mature product, and this is shown by the results for any query as they are deep, informative and really do help answer intent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Marketmuse has quite a slow progress of development, when compared to other newer tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
All of the information they provide is based on your real-world situations. It tells me where to link to based on my existing SEO content and allows me to quickly and easily create content clusters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The AI function for a full write of a draft didn't work for my very particular search terms. I will give it another try with a different, more broadly used, content type. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The content score will tell you where exactly your content stands. The research column with keywords further helps me optimize the content. Overall, this tool will help you a lot while optimizing the content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The draft system needs to be clear once I feed in the brief. Also, compared with the other tools that I have been using, there are fewer options of heading optimization in this tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are so many options for different reports with different takeaways. I love that the company continues to hone the platform and add additional tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is unhelpful how so many of the tools have such overlap in functionality. Which would be best to use if they do basically the same thing? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Optimize feature of the tool is really cool to help us assess how well our content is optimized based on our targeted keywords. That said, it is very finicky and my writers frequently complain that they lose their work by simply clicking to another page or window. They say this won't happen if you're logged in, but we've found that's not the case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The platform is so BUGGY! The system is frequently down or malfunctioning. It seems like they weren't truly ready to take on customers, but did anyway. At this point, I feel more like a tester than a user. I was really excited to use the Build Brief feature, thinking it would save me time outlining topics for my freelancers, but it's really not very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Optimize was the best feature as it helps me to provide a comprehensive document on a specific topic by making sure I address all of the semantically related words. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the features that pull or fetch the data pull in other aspects of content on the page that need to be deleted and add spaces between commas. Also if you use grammar corrections like boy's names instead of boys names it will not count towards your optimization score. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Offers birds-eye view of keyword opportunities and gaps. The briefs also help create great, relevant content based on user queries Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The platform can be glitchy sometimes
you can't export data to spreadsheets Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
