What do you like best about Lumio?

My favorite thing about Lumio is that my students are able to have the presentation directly in front of them. They can zoom in on the part they want to focus on, interact with the lesson, and receive immediate feedback on their thoughts instead of waiting until the end. I also love that all students can participate and are given a voice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Lumio?

Ever since a teacher in my school board introduced me to Lumio - I have been in awe and amazed at all that it offers and how it engages my virtual students each day! I wish we had this tool during the pandemic, and I am so grateful for it now that I have been volunteering to present Lumio PD at TDSB and city wide education technology conferences (one is this Friday April 19, Unleashing Learning, downtown Toronto). I have to let other educators, administrators and school teams know how incredible and transformative Lumio is especially since our school board focus is UDL and fostering inclusion and accessibility - ensuring all students are met where they are at and facilitating belonging and capacity. I love I can use LUMIO to easily combine digital AT and UDL strategies, transforming my previously one sided virtual lessons into active, inclusive and collaborative learning experiences that engage students in real time, from multiple entry points, using a variety of presentation tools (ex. Google slides, PPT, SMART, PDF) on any device, from any location (they are at home). Using this SMART learning management system daily over the past year with my virtual DD ISP students, I'm thrilled to unveil the magic of LUMIO—a revolutionary digital learning tool that transcends boundaries. LUMIO provides a way for students to seamlessly respond, share ideas and interact in person or virtually from any device, relevant to their specific IEP goals and starting points. I love to share with others that LUMIO enhances accessibility and ignites both independent and collaborative learning, and model ways to integrate LUMIO, UDL and AT to bridge the gaps for either in-person or virtual learning. I also incorporate AAC and Boardmaker 7 symbols into the Lumio slides and activities I make, which promotes essential communication skills for my students and empowers their voice and choice. I am so grateful for this tool daily, and even hope to pursue all 3 Lumio ambassador roles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumio?

The only features (and I have given feedback to ask if these can be developed) I wish Lumio had was a crop button, the ability to work on/open more than one lesson at a time, being able to save a photo as a background to a slide, how long it takes to download or upload a lesson, access to shared libraries (not a cost my school will pay), the ability to download student answers and responses afterwards instead of having to screen shot each page or it may get erased, and I wish the hard work I spend animating my google slides and powerpoints would remain after uploading them to Lumio (please add a feature that allows gifs and animations it keeps my students much more focused especially during reading (ex. blending segmenting words with an animated hand moving from letter to letter). Other than that I love how interactive Lumio is! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?

LUMIO provides a daily interactive option/platform for my minimally verbal, virtual students and their families to seamlessly respond to discussions, choices and activities in real time and receive immediate feedback and encouragement from me. Students love to make choices independently now, and develop their skills without as much guided support. I love that they can easily sign in to lumio from any device and location, and so do their families. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Lumio?

The best part of Lumio is how teacher friendly it is. I also like the pre-made templates. I feel like the templates have just the right amount of information. Not to much to be overwhelming, and yet open ended enough that I can make small changes to the templates and have a brand new lesson. I also like how I can switch from whole group to whiteboard to just me presenting in the middle of Lumio lessons. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumio?

My only struggle is that there is no way to save student work. If we are working on a Lumio together than the students work is not saved. It is only available while the Lumio is open. I am not able to review their work at a later time or even use Lumio to show growth over time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?

Lumio allows me to present content in a new and exciting way to my students. It also allows my students to interact with ANY content in a innovative way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Lumio?

Lumio makes it easy for teachers to quickly add their ideas to premade resources. Start with your own pdf or PowerPoint and with a click of a button your pages are now interactive for groups, individuals or a whole class discussion. Once your activities are set students join with a code and enter your virtual classroom which is fully of interaction. I love that the code stays the same but you have the power to reset it as needed. As a teacher I appreciate the ability to provide my students real time feed back.Lumio also makes it easy guide my students during their lesson or release them for individual activities at their pace. They also have a recording feature for each slide for recording audio for direction or even translation. I enjoy using Lumio and their company is great at listening to their customers talk feedback on what features to bring it next. Happy to be a Lumio teacher and share it's with my colleagues frequently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumio?

The only thing that I believe would make Lumio the perfect tool would be the ability to see the student thumbnails of work instead of having to click on each students name. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps cut down on copies, keeps students engaged and on task, and provides a hands on experience using tools kids love to use daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Lumio?

I love that I can upload documents from my computer, Google drive, Canvas, and other platforms to Lumio and edit to add games, assessments, and many other rich content to enhance my lessons and engage students throughout them. I also love that it has options to convert pages into individual pdfs and not having to make any more copies. Lastly, for now, I can use any of their presentations and resources, edit them or simply integrate them into my lessons, to adapt them to my students' varied learning proficiencies. Thank you Lumio! #GoLumio Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumio?

There is nothing to dislike about it, for it enriches my lessons delivery while actively engaging my students in their learning processes. Nothing to dislike at all! #Go Lumio Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?

I can integrate so many learning features into one lesson without having to leave the application to search for other educational resources. It has all in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Lumio?

There are so many fun ways to involve students in lessons, through collaboration, individual worksheets and group work. There are also fantastic game based activities that leverage teacher's content to effectively stimulate learning and revision. Using the Response tool, teachers are able to create full assessments and get immediate results which can be downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet. This data can then be imported into an LMS and used for reporting, making tests and report writing a breeze! I am thrilled about the Immersive Reader, too, as it enables students with language or reading difficulty access the lessons. Lumio lessons are also very easy to create, and there is a vast library of ready made resources and lessons to use and personalise to fit the teacher and students. Best of all, Lumio can be accessed on any device, meaning teachers can teach from remote venues, in class and connect with students remotely too. And all this can be accessed on a mobile device, laptop, desktop, Apple product and SMART Interactive display. BONUS: IT IS FREE! It is easy to use from a student and teacher perspective, and is siple to implement in any educational setting. With the continuous support available through local and international support teams and the embedded help videos, there is never a time that you are left to figure things out on your own. Personally I use it all the time, in every lesson I present. It integrates well with Google and Microsoft. It also works with any student device with a browser. It also has integration with Canva! Simply an AWESOME edtech tool NO teacher should be without!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lumio?

A big downside is that it requires internet access, which means teachers in remote areas with spotty or poor internet connectivity might struggle with accessing lessons. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Lumio solving and how is that benefiting you?

* Cost of pen and paper assessments: with Lumio it is free and easy to do assessments. This means teachers are able to use their time more effectively. It is easy to draw up assessments and makes exam time much less stressful for teachers.

* Teachers already have content in PDF or PPT format, or on Google Drive. Lumio allows you to import these directly and use them right away for teaching.

* Students are often disconnected and univolved in lessons. With Lumio, leveraging their own devices, students are actively involved in lessosn. With the handout conversion, it is easy to see what students have done and mark their responses in real time.

* I think the biggest problem is integrating ICT inot teaching and learning, and Lumio makes this simple, fun and effective! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Lumio?

The most helpful thing so far is the ease of creating lessons that are fun and engaging. My district hosted a summer conference (DIGIN 24- Bibb County) where I learned so much more. The Lumio presenters were awesome. (Michelle and Michael were marvelous! )

I have already started planning games and graphic organizers to incorporate into my lessons. I love how Lumio allows me to collect data real time and help me with providing corrective feedback discreetly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
