Our consulting company provides B2B Marketing services to help clients accelerate sales revenue by building their Lead-to-Revenue capabilities. In many cases, we work as an extension of our client’s organization. We needed a tool to track resources, projects, time, and deliverables both for our internal team and for projects that include client resources. So while we’re a small company, we need to manage numerous projects and deadlines at any given time.

For our situation, we like the flexibility of Keyedin Projects to fit our operating environment and the project portfolio management capabilities. We prefer to initiate and plan projects at the top level and then add detail as information becomes available. We can manage as much, or as little as we need for a particular project or client.

The PPM reporting gives us an automated, big picture view of current projects, resource loading and upcoming deadlines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The learning curve for new team members to get started is higher than a basic task tracking / project management tool such as Trello or BaseCamp. But this tool gives us the macro view of resource loading and project activity that a simpler tool doesn’t provide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our business is a small IT consulting firm that was looking for a single system that would capture consultants' time, manage their projects, and (more or less) automatically produce a client invoice. KeyedIn meets these requirements for us. To summarise, the system:

1. Provides considerable flexibility to manage resources, clients, projects and invoicing.

2. Is easy to use interface for staff to enter their time.

3. Has reasonably flexible reporting.

1. Reporting using pre-defined data sets does limit the reporting flexibility.

2. Can be confusing to configure at times because of the option to configure the same setting in multiple ways.

3. Doesn’t integrate with our cloud-based finance system.

4. Some configurations are limited, eg, invoicing frequency is set and new ones cannot be added.

It is easy to access, straight forward to use, and is flexible for customisation. It allows you to get oversight across a portfolio of projects drawing out specific parameters. You can build as many custom reports as you like, based on the underlying data captured by the system. It is useful as a governance tool as opposed to a replacement for something like MS Project, which is cumbersome to use as it's so detailed. The system administration can be overly complicated / confusing depending on the security set up you wish to achieve. Cloning projects can result in system problems if you forget to tick or un-tick certain things before cloning. You need to make a lot of use of the admin in order to master it. If you only use it occasionally then it is easy to forget how to properly administer the system. If you create a bespoke report via in-house programmers then it can be costly and take a fair amount of time to either make amendments or create new programmed reports. USEABILITY - as most of the user base would not in be in the tool on a daily basis we wanted something that would be intuitive to use. We found most elements of the tool were a maximum of two clicks away. We wanted to minimise the user base calling or having to refer to user guides or online video tutorials

SUPPORTABILITY - When a system starts to become a critical backbone of decision making at board level you need any issues to be acknowledged and fixed within an acceptable amount of time. Unlike other vendors we assessed the KeyedIn SLAs aligned very well for easyJet

CULTURAL FIT - Always a hard one to explain, but something which goes a long way at easyJet both when looking at people joining the organisation but also working with vendors. It was clear that KeyedIn would work with us as a partner in delivering this project, not force their own methodology on easyJet. I wouldn't ;say 'dislike' however the main area identified was it would have been helpful to provide the ability for an email to be sent to the Project Manager when a resource has been provided e.g. two way email notifications Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

KeyedIn covers a lot of the project management processes related to running projects in a professional services organisation . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

KeyedIn has a weakness when it comes to follow up on the organization and people. As an example, it's not easy to access the actual utilization and compare to planed. Also it's cumbersome to manage authorization in 2 layers, line manager and project manager. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Business and project build out is logically laid out. Best practice process is created my structuring our business around the Keyedin Projects tool. As a former user and administrator of MS Project server, there is no comparison. The supporting documentation is also excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the search mechanism for project - the "contains " is especially useful. also like being able to enter project statuses weekly and the easy way to edit project details. Like the way you can clone weekly reports so as not to have to re-key previous statuses Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The weekly project status report has too many mandatory fields. Not sure of the value of save & close vurses submit & close. Encountered problems working in chrome browser Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
