Spanning Backup is overall a solid tool, but there's room for improvement. The reporting dashboard could be more detailed and easier to read at a glance. Kaseya ruined this. The way licenses are modified was supposed to be better but it does not let you update it right in the moment where I found myself needing to come back to it to update the license whenever the system decided to recognized that users were removed. I reduced our footprint and was happy to continue using Spanning O365 Backup. It is reliable and easy to manage. The daily backup review page is nice to see successes and failures for each assigned account. Shared Mailbox backups are also a nice addition, as multiple hands in a shared account make for missing email more often than with personal accounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I would prefer an option to choose a single .PST file if my ISP bandwidth will allow for backing up user email upon exit such as terminations or resignations. The user interface is great and it integrates nicely with our ticketing system. It could be faster, but i also appreciate it's handling alot of data.

What I like about Spanning Backup is that I am able to easily backup and recover all of my work. I use it all of the time as my primary backup software ever since I stumbled upon it. I feel like their customer support is well organized and relatively easy to get ahold of for someone who is not tech savvy and is learning how to work with SaaS. I have integrated Spanning Backup with my Salesforce and my Microsoft 365 accounts. In my opinion, I believe that Spanning Backup is easy to implement for any type of user. A trustworthy cloud backup solution for Microsoft 365. You never truly know how effective a backup system is until you face a crisis or experience data loss. Unfortunately, my company did encounter such a situation, but fortunately, we were able to use Spanning Backup’s recovery feature, and it worked flawlessly! Recovering our backed up data was simple and intuitive, and I am extremely grateful for this software. The implementation process was straightforward, and integrating it with our Microsoft tenant was easy. Additionally, the system allows you to scale effortlessly as your company grows. One limitation for our use case is that Spanning Backup is a cloud-only solution and does not support backing up Microsoft 365 data directly to on-premises storage (NAS). Since we have a NAS in our server room, having an option for local or hybrid backups for certain datasets would be a nice addition. While this does not impact the reliability of the cloud backup itself, it would be nice for organisations (like ours in Germany) that require local copies as part of their backup or compliance strategy. I no longer have to worry about deciding which files belong on which devices, since the software takes care of all the slicing, ordering, and tracking for me. It's especially useful as my data grows, because as my backups increase over time, the system scales effortlessly—I simply add more media whenever I need it. Splitting my backup into more pieces only increases the chances that something might go wrong.
