Normally the designs we put together are for our higher end clientelle, and they are blown away by the detail that the tool can go into ranging from the general coverage of cameras to the FOV and different recogntion zones for analytics/identification. We were fortunate enough to use JVSG as our first design tool and haven't looked elsewhere since starting to use it a few years ago. Our custoemrs also appreciate the other assets that are available from the software, like teh ability to add vehicles and people into the scene to try replicate what they would see through the cameras view. I have not experienced any flaws in the software to date. However, I have ascertained some furniture design tool elements that would assist in a more accurate rendition of control and command FOV requirements, accurately reflecting site-specific results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This system is fairly easy to use and does have tons of camera stats pre-loaded - no need to try and build each one - the views and resolutions it shows helps me and my customers verify we have the right camera to provide the views that they wand and expect to see in the final project. Since the last few updates, there is nothing really that I dislike. I used to get a few crashes and error messages, but they seem to have been rectified in the various updates. It's easy to place and move cameras, and the simulated views are extremely accurate when viewed against the real world after the install. There is quite a good selection of items and building elements to choose from. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It can be a little buggy, with some odd crashes, although these are now much less common than they were - you can tell a lot of work has been done to overcome this. My personal bugbear is the way it ignores common drawing practices - eg scroll wheel / shift scroll to move sideways, ctrl scroll to zoom etc - the scroll wheel just zooms that's all, and you have to chose another to move. We use IP Video System Design Tool on almost all our proposals and bids. It puts us way ahead of the competition by demonstrating the professionalism and dedication of our team.
