For some items, like completing form 2553, there are several places where you must enter the same info. It would save a lot of time of Proconnect had drop boxes so you could select an owner and have everything auto-complete. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a 1 person, work from home, tax prep business that files about 100 returns each year, I don't need to buy an expensive yearly license for some fancy tax software. I use ProConnect because I can pay per return, so even if half of my clients leave unexpectedly, I'm still going to make a profit. There is no steep learning curve like with other softwares I have used. And they just added the ability to lock returns so that you don't accidentally make changes to a return that has already been filed. They offer a ton of free features that I don't use because I like to keep things simple. If I run into any issues, I'm often surprised at how quickly customer support can get things straightened out. Sometimes it takes a little longer for last minute tax forms to be updated in the software, so I might have to make my clients wait a bit to file their return, but those situations are rare. The best thing about ProConnect Tax is the way it fits the needs of my business. I work remotely quite often, so I wanted an excellent cloud-based product that would also work well on the Mac OS. I stricly use Apple products in my business, so ProConnect seamlessly integrated with how I operate my practice. I use it all the time and the support is always quick to respond if I need help. I really don't have a lot that I dislike about ProConnect Tax. It is more expensive than other softwares, so I do wish there was a better discount available. The upsides of ProConnect Tax are: 1) it is cloud-based; 2) my colleague and I can easily share information remotely; 3) the specialists bend over backward to resolve the issues; the software is up-to-date and easy to use; 4) the software is perfect for a boutique tax practice; 5) I tried LaCerte, filed 2022 income tax returns for two clients and returned to ProConnect; 6) The software is easy to install, implement, and renew; 7) the software planning tool is easy to use with my clients and integrates well with my boutique tax practice; 8) it is easy to review the income tax returns, make comparisons between years, and make sure the income tax returns are accurate. The specialists are excellent; some are better than others. ProConnect would have a higher quality of service and save their clients time if they adopted the Apple model, which is to contact a "senior" advisor when they are unable to resolve the issue. ProConnect is user friendly with research resources available at your finger tips, The install via QuickBooks was instant and set up a breeze. The integration with QuickBooks cuts the work in half for my bookkeeping clients at tax time. It allowds for quickly toggling between the systems which is a time saver as frequently as it must be done. The pay by use is ideal for first or second year firms that their client base is unknown, as well as, for firms in a growth stage. The Intuit Link feature is a great integration between ProConnect and the clients, but it can be cumbersome and difficult initially from the clients perspective because they must set up an account and login on their own.
