Unlike Turbo Tax which I previously used just to simply enter numbers and receive a report, Lacerte goes the extra mile to give me a detailed report of not only mine but my client's tax. Being a Tax Preparer myself Lacerte has made tax planning and advisory service so much easier and efficient. Also love the features that allows me to customize the tools and automatic features which applies to all my clients with just a click of a button. What I like most abou the software is the comparison I get from the Tax statement for my prior and current tax scenario. This allows me to accurately see how my financial standing has improved, also it helps pinpoint accurately if I missed out anything because it has the difference feature through comparison of the two years. I'm not sure, but the only flow I have here is not being able to generate an automatic editable Organizers form for my clients. Some of my clients who are not tax savy has to download and manually put in the info. It would have been better if it allows us to directly input datas into the form without having to use any third party sites like pdf filler. Moreover, it is not safe to use a third party site to edit a tax info. That is the only flow I believe can be fixed without any doubt! Thank you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Lacerte goes very in depth. For those returns that are extremely in depth, with many special tax rules, Lacerte is exceptional at including everything and providing trustworthy calculations. Lacertee is not friendly to the non-career accountant. It is not setup to resemble government forms, and many features and inputs may seem hidden. You must be an experienced accountant to use Lacerte, as it uses accountant vernacular often and "expects" that users "know what they're doing." 1065/1120/990 TB integration (and 1040 K-1s w/o a 1065) is also quite annoying to figure out and use. None at this moment. I have been using multiple tax prep software and Lacerte by far is my favorate. The only issue is it's good for organization, and if you are individual and just look for good tax software for your own tax, the cost of Lacerte is high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lacerte is very user-friendly and what I like best is the "jump to" feature on the output forms. If you need a value on a certain line but don't know where to enter it on the input sheet, you can right click and select the "jump to line" feature. Lacerte also offers a handy checkmark took that allows you to check off numbers you have reconciled which makes reviewing very efficient - I always know where I left off. You can also prepare customized footnotes easily. Lacerte is also very attentive about updating their software based on the most recent tax law changes, more so than other tax prep softwares. I don't like how you're not able to "override" values directly on the return. I also feel like Lacerte isn't the strongest option when preparing multistate returns - I get kind of confused even whilst working on maybe 1-2 different states.
