What do you like best about Intervals?

It covers the needs of my company. From company info to hours logged and multiple users on an account. I like that we can assign tasks to others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Intervals?

It looks like something done in the 90's. It needs to be more user friendly, more modern with a focus on UX. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Intervals:

It gets the job done and meets expectations. It covers every need and then some. It just lacks a bit in design and user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Intervals solving and how is that benefiting you?

All kinds of SEO problems, and Intervals doesn't help solve them but it does help us track hours. I love that I can view the completion levels for each project together in a list, so I know what still needs to be worked on that month and what doesn't. No other software offers that. We've looked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Michael Payne of Intervals

Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate it. Regarding the UX, we are actively working on updating the user interface. If you would like to be part of the beta tester group please email support@myintervals.com to be added.

What do you like best about Intervals?

I think it helps our management team be on top of projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Intervals?

I'm at the bottom of the totem pole. I get assigned tasks. It took me a while to figure out how to turn off getting emails because I was both the owner AND the assignee of a task, so my only interface with Intervals was dealing with all the emails I'd get until I could close out a task. It's gotten better over time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Intervals solving and how is that benefiting you?

We're a university - so an event will take several components to be successful. For our managers, I'm sure this is a necessary tool to make sure everyone is on board with the requests for a project. For those of us at the receiving end of a task - it's mostly a nuisance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Intervals?

I have been using intervals everyday for 5.5 years. It has a solid feature set and I've never once seen a bug. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Intervals?

The product needs UI/UX attention. It has a lot of good features, but ease of use could be dramatically increased. It has good, but dated UI which is probably not a big deal to the existing user base, but improving this would probably boost intervals product sales. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Intervals solving and how is that benefiting you?

Scheduling, Project Management, Time Tracking, Invoicing. The tool does what we need, but some improvements could be made to the user flow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from John Reeve of Intervals

Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate it. Regarding the UI we agree it's dated. We've been making minor updates to the interface since we launched 11 years ago, but times have changed. Our next major release will unveil an entirely new and modernized interface. We're hoping to beta launch our new look soon. If you would like to be part of the beta tester group please email support@myintervals.com to be added to the list.

What do you like best about Intervals?

The search functionality is very powerful and pretty reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Intervals?

But troublesome to start adding a comment only to realize I also need to update the status or add a follower and I don't want to send multiple update notifications so need to copy current text, cancel the comment, click update task then resume editing... would be nice if the update UI was more flexible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Intervals solving and how is that benefiting you?

Mostly involved in cross-department task/project tracking - useful for tracking to-do's, ownership and progress Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Intervals?

In the beginning, email communication helps a lot. The direct mail account for tasks and projects is great.

The structure of timesheets is perfect! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Intervals?

Arrived at a time when unfortunately the intervals no longer meet our needs.

There is no space for integrated software documentation, missing sub-tasks, and auto-assigning emails, directly in the task, if it is a new request. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Intervals solving and how is that benefiting you?

We decided to leave for JIRA. Although much more expensive than the Intervals, the features mentioned above are fundamental to our business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Intervals?

The system is not only easy to use, it is simple to set up and allows for a lot of customization so that it works for any type of client, project structure. It allows our company to keep all work requests, timelines, milestones, labor tracking, project expenses all in one place. It has simplified billing. It holds our team accountable, and work requests are not overlooked since you can view Intervals from anywhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Intervals?

I would recommend looking at the users rights. We do have to make people admins because they need to view reports and approve labor, but it also gives them rights to set up new projects which I don't want them to necessarily do. Also, from a leadership standpoint we aren't able to create projects that only we can view because our managers need admin rights as stated above. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Intervals:

If you need to manage a large volume of work for multiple clients/projects and want it integrated with time tracking and billing this is the perfect system. Spend time up front to think about how you will use Work Types, Milestones, Modules and Projects. If you do that up front and have it configured in a way that lines up to your business it will be much easier to implement and manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Intervals solving and how is that benefiting you?

We provide marketing and sales solutions for our clients. For example, if our client goes to a tradeshow they send us the leads from the show. We have multiple deliverables that must take place from sending emails, making phone calls, assigning and distributing the leads, to program reporting and follow-up. There are a lot of tasks that go into one campaign, you can only manage that through a system like Intervals to ensure no step is missed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Integration and task queues are on point. I assign and direct tasks in my organization on a daily basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Intervals?

as great as it is not there is a lack of customization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Intervals:

There are always additional can do's and want to do's. maybe more customization and more automation this way when a taskmaster is reviewing he can attach rules to certain task so they automatically go through. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Intervals solving and how is that benefiting you?

task queue, fix it tickets. keeping everyone in the loop with comments etc, also the favourite views are a cool feature I think is helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Intervals?

I love the way you can create a task, assign, and then drag and drop to change dates it is due. I like the way you can set up Clients then projects. The reporting is great. I like how you can set rates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Intervals?

Would really be great if there was a mobile app. Especially for updating time...it just isn't that user friendly.

The tool itself just feels and looks a bit dated...like I am using an old tool. Not something new and modern and for that reason I would be less likely to recommend it as I would with tech savvy people who like to look at visually appealing tools

It would be great if there was a way to save "templates" for when you keep creating the same tasks with the same to do lists. We just the check mark bullet a lot in our tasks.

Would be good if we could set up "reoccurring" tasks rather than moving it every week. Or closing a take and reopening every week. For example we have a priorities for the week task that we close each Friday and reopen every Monday.

Would be good if setting up the "profile" could have more flexibility as we have information we like to include here and we have to copy and paste a template in every time. Be good to create "sections" Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Intervals:

Use for the functionality and reporting not for the user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Intervals solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use it as a team to assign tasks and it is great to see what is on the calendar.

We like it for tracking budgets and seeing where our clients are at with time and budget.

What do you like best about Intervals?

I like the effortless means of tracking time and generating invoices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Intervals?

I enter detailed descriptions because of the nature of the clients I work with. If I enter more than one entry per day, however they don't populate in chronological order when I generate the invoice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Intervals:

The Intervals time tracking and invoicing functions completely remove the roadblocks to keeping detailed, accurate time records and generating professional quality invoices. Essentially a terrific tool for maximizing incoming cash flow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Intervals solving and how is that benefiting you?

Intervals solves the problem of spending too much time tracking time and creating invoices. The benefits realized include the ease of invoicing, ability to generate useful reports and statements, and spitting out an invoice in just a few minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
