What do you like best about IBM Rational RequisitePro?

I used IBM Rational RequisitePro for two years. We can define the test plan for the business and the teams can follow that. The status for all the phases in the test cycle can be tracked efficiently through the software. One can manage the test cases, review, approve and define the interdependencies between two kinds of test cases. We can estimate the size, complexity and effort required to carry on a test cycle. What do you dislike about IBM Rational RequisitePro?

The main problem with IBM Rational RequisitePro is the interface not being very friendly.

A lot of companies adopt the software but the employees still follow the traditional way of managing the tet cases.

The software faces problem in getting signed off after a few minutes of inactivity. This should be taken care of.

The software crashes at times and needs an upgrade. Sometimes the application responds very slow which consumes a lot of user time. Possibly a new patch can resolve the issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering IBM Rational RequisitePro:

If you are an experienced professional in the Testing domain then you can find the software easy to use. You can understand the User interface well as compared to a naive user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IBM Rational RequisitePro solving and how is that benefiting you?

I work as a Quality Analyst Lead and my work required managing the test strategy, plan, and test cases. I use the software to maintain the test cases of different deliverables which come from multiple teams. I can pull out the details related to the previous and present test cases in a matter of seconds whenever required by the business owners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about IBM Rational RequisitePro?

I used IBM Rational Requisite Pro for an IT Healthcare project.

I needed to capture various kinds of requriements such as SSP (Suplemental Specifications), UC (Use Case), UI (User Interface) & Features and so on.

Requisite Pro is the best tool to document any kind of requirement.

The moment you modify one requirement, it will be saved in versions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Rational RequisitePro?

Somewhat difficult to understand initially as there is no tool guide. For me it took almost 15 days to be hands on with the tool.

Also I had an issue where the requirement document was mistakenly deleted. So we had to connect with IBM customer care for help.

Though they restored the requirements but all the Work Packe numbers were removed.

I had to create each line item all over again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IBM Rational RequisitePro solving and how is that benefiting you?

As mentioned in the previous section, we can maintain a single repository for all the requirements. We can create work packages easily and edit them / download them as in when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
